The White House said Friday that President Donald Trump was suffering “mild symptoms” of COVID-19, adding that he was in good spirits and working in the family quarters though the announcement of his illness threw the country deeper into uncertainty just a month before the presidential election. The revelation came in a Trump tweet about 1 a.m. after he had returned from an afternoon political fundraiser without telling the crowd he had been exposed to an aide with the disease that has killed more than 205,000 Americans and more than a million people worldwide. First lady Melania Trump also tested...

On Monday, the City Council is scheduled to take up an amendment to the city charter to change the name of the city’s “chief administrative officer” to “city administrator.” The city’s “chief financial officer” would be renamed “finance director.”

The Twin Ports Interchange reconstruction project through Lincoln Park soared $100 million over budget this month, forcing planners to defer indefinitely portions of the work scheduled for 2020-23. The $343 million project is scheduled to begin in May. Minnesota Department of Transportation figures released Monday at a regular public meeting about the project showed a $443 million price tag. "This is what happens with every big project," Duane Hill, district engineer based in Duluth, said Monday. "You have to manage it as you go along. We thought we did a good job initially coming up with a budget for this...

For those who are or claim to be unfamiliar with the Larry Sinclair story, let me summarize it as briefly as possible. Larry Sinclair, who now lives in Duluth, Minnesota, claims to have spent parts of the evenings of Nov. 6 and Nov. 7, 1999 with Senator Obama in Chicago. At least as far back as 1986 Sinclair has been in trouble with the law, arrested for a variety of things (fraud seemingly at the top of the list), and had been up to that time in and out of prison. He is an openly gay man, and he seems...

Laurie Cardoza-Moore, president of Proclaiming Justice to the Nations (PJTN) and show host of the popular Christian television program “Focus on Israel” which reaches a global weekly audience of over 2 billion, blasted rookie Congresswoman Ilhan Omar for her silence after the Adas Israel synagogue in Duluth burned down last Monday in an apparent arson. “The historic Adas Israel Congregation in Minnesota was burnt to the...

With the death toll at 83 and counting, the Camp Fire in Butte County ranks as the deadliest wildfire anywhere in the United States in 100 years. But the last time a wildfire killed this many people in America, many of the circumstances were eerily similar: Parched forests. Strong winds. Terrified townspeople killed while fleeing in their cars. Towns wiped off the map. A nation stunned. It happened in 1918 in Northern Minnesota, near Duluth.

John Landsteiner, who competed with the U.S. Curling team in early 2018, got his ring back in Huntington Beach after flying in from Duluth, Minnesota. He also got the chance to meet the man who located the ring. Leon Jones of Buena Park made the discovery during one of his usual outings with his metal detector and then contacted the Olympian via FaceTime. Landsteiner said he came to California for the ESPY Awards and lost the Olympic ring when he visited Huntington Beach.

Quick, with MAGA-shocking news reverberating there’s a mid-west rush on winnamins. Remember that massive MAGA Trump rally last week in Duluth Minnesota? That would be the 9,000 strong rally where twice as many were turned away? Well, the data team at MAGA HQ have crunched the numbers and Brad Parscale shares the results: “The crowd at the Minnesota rally was 60% Democrat and Independent.”

Our friend Howard Root attended the Trump rally in Duluth last night. This is his (fantastic) report along with photos he took at the event (at the top and bottom below): At least 25 percent of the audience was under the age of 30, and around 40 percent were women. The senior citizen percentage was less than 10 percent — the lowest I’ve ever seen at a Republican event. Other than the hundred or so party leaders, this was a vastly different crowd from the Minnesota Republican Convention that I attended in Duluth three weeks ago. None of the attendees...

At least two protesters interrupted President Trump’s rally in Minnesota on Wednesday, with the president mocking one individual’s appearance. The activists held up signs and disrupted the event minutes apart as the president railed against illegal immigration. Trump brushed aside each individual, telling them to “go home” and “say hello to Mommy.” “Was that a man or a woman? Because he needs a haircut more than I do,” Trump said as the second protester was escorted out. “I couldn’t tell,” Trump continued. “Needs a haircut.” The crowd roared, and broke into a “USA” chant. Washington Examiner ✔ @dcexaminer Trump as...
