Farron Salley, a West Palm Beach news anchor who was arrested and charged with DUI in December, apologized for mocking a bald cop during her arrest. Beto O'Rourke raised $6.1 million in the first 24 hours of his presidential campaign, his campaign said Monday, in what amounts to the largest announced first-day haul of any 2020 Democratic contender to date. The former Texas congressman raised $6,136,763 in online donations from all 50 states in the first day, his campaign said. That tops the $5.9 million one-day total Sen. Bernie Sanders announced after he launched his campaign. The closest other 2020 Democratic candidate to publicize their first-day fundraising total was California Sen. Kamala Harris at $1.5 million.

An Aspen teen and his parents were charged Monday with giving cocaine and alcohol to underage high school students during parties at their home near Aspen Highlands, according to court documents. Joseph Lipsey IV, 19, was arrested Monday on his way to Aspen High School, and his mother Shira Lipsey, 44, was arrested at her home. The 29-year-old man who allegedly crashed his car into a Wayne gas station Tuesday while high, killing three people, had previously lost his license after being arrested on charges he drove recklessly while under the influence and has a history of drug addiction. A 50-year-old Connecticut woman was arrested Wednesday for driving under the influence of vanilla extract. Police were called at 4:45 p.m. after a person reported a car stopped at a New Canaan intersection with the driver sitting behind the wheel with her eyes closed. Detective Deidre Mengedoht was killed when her patrol car was struck by an impaired driver while conducting a traffic stop on I-64, between 4th Street and 6th Street, in downtown Louisville just after 2:00 pm. Her vehicle was stopped in the right lane with its emergency equipment activated when it was struck from behind by a Metropolitan Sewer District tractor-trailer. A drunk driver was arrested on Sunday after he lost control of his car and the vehicle slammed into a telephone pole and ended up hanging vertically from the branches of a tree, hospitalizing one of two passengers that were riding with him.
