PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — A mask recommendation has been issued in Philadelphia as COVID-19 Delta variant cases continue to rise. City health officials are strongly recommending that everyone, including fully vaccinated people, wear masks in all public indoor places to help stop the spread of the Delta variant. [cut] “We are seeing a small but disturbing increase in hospitalizations due to COVID-19 among children in Philadelphia, along with more than a doubling of cases in the city,” Acting Health Commissioner Dr. Cheryl Bettigole said. “It’s time for all of us to do what we need to do to protect our city’s...

The highest-paid federal employee, best known for flip-flopping on COVID messaging and fudging the numbers, is now going to pontificate about truth and service in an autobiography where he gets to be the hero? What a joke.We learned on Tuesday that even after America fully returns to normal, we will be left with yet another unpleasant side effect of the pandemic: more of Anthony Fauci’s face on our screens and pages, this time backed by the communist sympathizers at Disney. The director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, following in the footsteps of scandal-ridden New York Gov. Andrew...

This is how confused New Yorkers are about masks. At Barnes & Noble Wednesday, no mask was required to browse the bookshelves, but on the other side of Union Square, the Strand bookstore had mandated masks for all shoppers. Practically everyone inside both stores was wearing a mask, anyway, despite CDC advice that you don’t need one, indoors or outdoors, if you’re vaccinated against COVID-19. Considering that more than half of Manhattan has been fully vaccinated, something is very wrong with the way we are processing risk. The trust between public health experts and the public is broken and now...

On March 17, American Thinker posted an article entitled "Mask Mandates Do Not Save Lives." By comparing COVID death rates in states with no mask mandate to states in which masking was mandatory, the article was able to show that, on average, states in which masking was voluntary had lower death rates than states requiring it. The difference was marginal, so the conservative conclusion was that required masking had not saved lives. Since that study did nothing to control for potentially confounding considerations like population density or age structure, more sophisticated studies of the question are in order. What it...

President Biden on Monday urged state and local officials to reconsider lifting their coronavirus restrictions and to reinstate mask mandates that have lapsed as the U.S. faces an increase in cases. "I'm reiterating my call for every governor, mayor and local leader to maintain and reinstate the mask mandate," Biden said at an event intended to highlight the rapid increase in vaccine eligibility. "Please, this is not politics. Reinstate the mandate if you let it down. Asked later if some states should pause reopening efforts, Biden said "yes."

Post-vaccination “breakthrough” COVID-19 infections are being taken “seriously,” Dr. Anthony Fauci said Friday as federal officials expressed concern about rising coronavirus cases in the US. “With regard to the breakthrough cases of people who have been vaccinated and ultimately have gotten infection, obviously this is something that we take seriously and follow closely,” the nation’s top infectious disease expert said during virtual White House coronavirus briefing.

There are variants, and we don't know if baseline covid and vaccines makes people immune to the variants. Therefore, wear two masks, and MASKS ARE NOT THEATRE!

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Sen. Rand Paul is not backing down from his argument that people with immunity to COVID-19 should not have to wear masks in public. Paul appeared at the Galt House and was in Louisville one day after clashing with infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci during a Senate hearing over the science of masks. [cut] "If Dr. Fauci comes up with evidence that shows me that some new variant is here and thousands of people are dying and in the hospital, and the hospitals are overrun with people who have already had it or been vaccinated,...

Dr. Anthony Fauci cast doubts Tuesday on whether life would be back to normal by March 2022 as the coronavirus pandemic continues. “I don’t think we’re going to be completely normal a year from now,” Fauci said. “But I hope we’re well on the way to normality so that we can ultimately get the world protected at the same time as we get economic recovery so that all the unintended consequences of shutting down begin to normalize, including other health issues that have arisen because of the shutdown.”

Talk show host Bill Maher said he wishes there was more optimism going around now that COVID-19 is on the decline and vaccinations are rolling out. Maher, who hosts the HBO show Real Time with Bill Maher, targeted Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, saying he is “always a downer.” “Can we be a little happy?” Maher said on his show. “Can we be a little happy about where we are COVID-wise as opposed to ... it’s just like they really don't want you. I think it's counterproductive. I really do. The...

NEW YORK - Anyone who has to go to federal court in Manhattan, Westchester County, and Dutchess County will need to mask up — twice — to get inside, according to a new policy. In a public memo dated Feb. 11, 2021, Chief Judge Colleen McMahon says everyone coming into federal court buildings in the Southern District of New York will need to follow a series of pandemic protocols, including answering questions, getting their temperature checked, and wearing either two masks — a tight-fitting disposable mask under a cloth mask — or a well-fitting FDA-approved KN95 or N95 respirator-style mask.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention may soon recommend all Americans wear two masks to enhance their protection against coronavirus, Dr. Anthony Fauci said Tuesday. “It makes common sense,” the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases said in a livestreamed interview with the Washington Post. Joe Biden’s magic COVID plan turns out to be more of the same Bill Gates miffed by ‘crazy’ conspiracy theories about himself Fauci said he met with colleagues at the CDC on Monday about the possibility — and the agency has agreed to conduct a study to determine the effectiveness...

Official White House Photo by Shealah CraigheadDr. Anthony Fauci may be a saintly figure within media circles, but most of us recognized his game within a month or two of the pandemic starting. Claiming expertise does not in fact make someone an expert, as Never Trumper Tom Nichols so aptly illustrates, and Fauci has quickly fallen into that category. The good doctor’s claims shift on a dime, moving from each side of an issue with no accountability for ever being wrong. The commonality in everything he does just so happens to be politics.Take this latest contradiction, which happened over just...

"If you add on another mask, you may actually make it tougher for the air to move through..." An infectious disease expert who served on President Joe Biden’s COVID-19 Advisory Board during the presidential transition says wearing two face masks as a precautionary measure against COVID-19 may actually do more harm than good. Michael Osterholm said on NBC’s “Meet The Press” that double masking could raise the chances of becoming infected with the virus. “When we talk about double masking, remember what we’re really talking about is just trying to prevent the virus from being excreted by me into the...

Michael Osterholm, who was a member of the Biden Transition COVID-19 Advisory Board, gave a second opinion after Dr. Anthony Fauci said last week that doubling up on face masks “likely” provides more protection than wearing just one mask. "When we talk about double masking, remember what we're really talking about is just trying to prevent the virus from being excreted by me into the air or me inhaling the virus from someone else in the air, and it's both a function of face fit and face filtration," Osterholm said during an interview Sunday on NBC's Meet the Press. If...

The coronavirus continues to spread with more than 25 million cases nationwide since the pandemic began. And as new, more contagious variants of the virus emerge, many wonder how to keep themselves and others most protected. Dr. Anthony Fauci recently told NBC News’ Today that wearing two masks at a time “just makes common sense,” which has caused many to consider double masking. If you’re considering purchasing more masks to start double layering, check out these 15 good options below that are available for purchase online now. Masks prevent respiratory droplets from moving through the air when the wearer sneezes,...

Experts recently told Fox News there is little to no evidence behind 'double masking' ---- Dr. Anthony Fauci, President Biden’s chief medical adviser on COVID-19, said two face masks are likely more effective than one against the novel coronavirus, despite significant uncertainty on the subject. "If you have a physical covering with one layer, you put another layer on it just makes common sense that it likely would be more effective," Fauci told NBC News on Monday. Infectious disease experts from Stanford Health Care, Mayo Clinic and Johns Hopkins University recently told Fox News there is little to no evidence...
