Gay men get HIV at higher rates than any other group in the United States, and there are many reasons for this. Biological factors dramatically increase a gay man's vulnerability to infection. Social, cultural, and economic factors—such as stigma, racism, homophobia, and high rates of poverty—further compound the risk. Regardless of the causes, securing access to testing, prevention, and PrEP to lower HIV transmission in this high-risk group remains a pressing issue. There are numerous free or low-cost confidential testing and treatment sites offered by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services via their online testing locator.

The World Health Organization (WHO) declared mpox to be a public health emergency of international concern (PHEIC) on Wednesday "Today, the Emergency Committee met and advised me that in its view, the situation constitutes a public health emergency of international concern. I have accepted that advice," said WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus during a media briefing on Wednesday. In the U.S, there have been 1,634 cases of mpox reported so far this year, according to data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). That's more than double the number of national cases seen at the same...

With the arrival of a new, highly contagious fungal infection in NYC, health experts are sharing what you need to know to keep yourself safe. An unidentified NYC man in his 30s was diagnosed with the first US-reported case of Trichophyton mentagrophytes type VII, a rare, sexually transmitted form of ringworm. Details of his infection were shared Wednesday in the journal JAMA Dermatology. “The first thing to note is that we do not have evidence this infection is endemic in the US or even widespread in the US,” Dr. Avrom S. Caplan, who led the study of the man’s case,...

Who’s ready for the nation to be covered in rainbows again this year? Apparently Walmart is, as it just released its newest collection for its gay clothing options this pride month. While the store seemed elated about its new clothes, users on social media, who are arguably tired of woke crap being literally everywhere, blasted not only the collection but Walmart as a whole. The video advertisement, which was shared on Walmart’s Instagram page, showed queer people gathered all together for a photo shoot. “Queer people have magic that we can share,” a man said at the start of the...

Gay men are more than twice as likely to develop inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) than heterosexual men when both populations engage in high-risk sexual activity. "To our knowledge, this is the first large population-based study that demonstrates a higher prevalence of IBD in men who engage in high-risk same-sex sexual activity," said Emad Mansoor. "Our study is expected to open a new field of research into gastrointestinal inflammatory conditions." "Studying the cause of IBD in this underrepresented patient population in comparison to other patient groups," said Fabio Cominelli, "will allow us to further investigate the cause of disease development in...

he global monkeypox outbreak is primarily being driven by sex between men, according to the first major peer-reviewed paper to analyze a large set of cases of the virus. The outbreak, which epidemiologists believe initially began in mid-spring gatherings of gay and bisexual men in Europe, has since alarmed such experts by ballooning to nearly 16,000 cases worldwide. Now infectious disease specialists are developing an increasingly refined understanding of the predominant conduits of monkeypox transmission, as well as the typical disease course patterns. “These data point clearly to the fact that infections are so far almost exclusively occurring among men...

SNIP The most characteristic symptom of monkeypox is a rash that can look like pimples or blisters that appear on the face, inside the mouth and one other parts of the body like hands, feet, chest, genitals or anus. The rash typically lasts two-four weeks and will go through different stages before healing. Other symptoms include fever, headache, muscle aches and backaches, swollen lymph nodes, chills and exhaustion. According to the World Health Organization, the incubation period of monkeypox (the interval from infection to onset of symptoms) is usually 6-13 days but can range from 5-21 days. Patients typically report...

Health officials on Wednesday recommended that men in Florida who have sex with other men get a meningococcal vaccine following what the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention called "one of the worst outbreaks of meningococcal disease among gay and bisexual men in U.S. history." The CDC said in a statement that there have been at least 24 cases and seven deaths among gay and bisexual men caused by the bacteria in Florida recently. The CDC also recommended that gay and bisexual men traveling to Florida should ask their health care provider about getting the vaccine. "Because of the outbreak...

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - The Dallas County health department has reported its first locally transmitted case of the monkeypox virus after a man who attended the Daddyland Festival tested positive. He traveled from out-of-state for the four-day, Fourth of July circuit party. Health officials said the man went to a Dallas hospital with a rash and was diagnosed through laboratory testing done. Given the size of the Daddyland Festival, others who attended the events could have been exposed to monkeypox and, possibly, infected.

The CDC's been trying to warn men in Florida or traveling to Florida, particularly those who identify as gay, bisexual, queer or trans, that they need to get a vaccine that can prevent them from getting meningococcal disease. Meningococcal disease, including meningitis, is a bacterial infection in the lining of the brain and spinal cord. As of Friday, there have been 26 cases and seven deaths with 24 of these cases among men who have sex with men. Six of the deaths were also a part of the LGBTQ community. Half of the cases have been in men who identify...

A survey of monkeypox cases by the UK Health Agency has found that 151 out of 152 participants are men who “identify as gay, bisexual or men who have sex with men.” The survey found that 311 (99% of 314) cases were men, with just 3 confirmed female cases. “One hundred and fifty-two cases participated in more detailed questionnaires, implemented from 26 May 2022, and used retrospectively,” the survey found. “In this data, 151 of the 152 men interviewed identified as gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men (GBMSM), or reported same sex contact, and the remaining...

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Monday alerted gay and bisexual men that monkeypox appears to be spreading in the community globally, cautioning people to take precautions if they have been in close contact with someone who may have the virus and to be on the lookout for symptoms. Dr. John Brooks, a CDC official, emphasized that anyone can contract monkeypox through close personal contact regardless of sexual orientation. However, Brooks said many of the people affected globally so far are men who identify as gay or bisexual. Though they may have greater chance of exposure to monkeypox...

Three confirmed cases of monkeypox have been linked to a homosexual fetish festival in Belgium, health authorities said Friday. The Darklands Festival in Antwerp has been linked to all three confirmed cases of the disease in Belgium following four days of partying that began on May 5, according to AFP. The festival’s organizers said on their website that the Belgian government had asked them to inform attendees that the outbreak was likely caused by a festival-goer bringing the sickness from abroad. Darklands is a self-described gathering where the “various tribes in the gay fetish community (leather, rubber, army, skinhead, puppies…)...

Texas Scorecard previously revealed Austin Independent School District’s “Pride Week,” held March 21-26, promoted LGBT sexual conduct to school children and taught them “trans” ideology—the idea that you can turn into whatever biological sex or creature you feel like. Lesson plans included “Coming Out and Pronouns Days” for middle-schoolers, and teaching children as young as 5 that they can be “trans” and “non-binary.” “Some people aren’t boys or girls, they’re just people,” one plan read. Activities included “pride parades” in elementary school, “Queer Eye” TV show watch parties, and “community circles”— teacher-led conversations with kids about LGBT behaviors, where children...

As children in Texas face permanently disfiguring gender experiments and homosexual adults face a high risk of disease, Austin’s school officials are dedicating an entire week to endorse those behaviors. Austin Independent School District is hosting a “Pride Week” March 21-26 to not only promote LGBT sexual conduct to school children, but to teach them “trans” ideology—the idea that you can turn into whatever biological sex or creature you feel like. Austin ISD is providing each school campus an “inspiration guide of suggested activities for PRIDE Week” as well as “Pride Swag” stickers, posters, flags, “pronoun buttons,” and more. Pride...

Norway’s parliament has voted to expand the protections that the LGBTQ+ community has enjoyed in that nation since 1981 by expanding the definition of “hate speech” that can land a person in prison. As you can see, the horrific, dystopian future that George Orwell warned us about is now here, and getting worse with each passing day. Jail time for criticism? Sure, Antichrist brooks no dissent. What’s next, execution? Exactly. The Liberals in the LGBTQ+ lied to you when they said they only want “tolerance and acceptance”, they want nothing of the kind. They want to you rule your life,...

A drug-fueled sex fad called "chemsex" was linked to increased risk of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs) among men who have sex with men (MSM), researchers found. Gay, bisexual or other MSM who disclosed use of chemsex were more likely to be newly diagnosed with HIV infection, acute bacterial and rectal STIs, and hepatitis C, reported Mark Pakianathan, MBChB, of Wandsworth Integrated Sexual Health at The Courtyard Clinic in London, and colleagues.
