A new mutant strain of mpox has been detected in England, health officials warned today.
The unnamed patient had recently come to the UK after traveling to Asia.
Seeking medical advice, the case was flagged with the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) who undertook laboratory testing and discovered the strain contained elements of both 'clade Ib and clade IIb mpox'.
The clade 1b mutation kills up to one in 100 of those infected and is believed to be behind a wave of miscarriages in Africa, where it emerged.
A different, less severe, form of mpox, called clade II, sparked alarm among health officials globally in 2022 when it began spreading rapidly across multiple countries mainly through sexual contact among gay and bisexual men.
However, new infections gradually tapered off amid boosted awareness of the disease and a hurried vaccination program.
Experts today warned the new mpox strain was 'what experts feared would happen'
Clade 1b emerged last year and has swept mainly through central Africa infecting tens of thousands since the outbreak began.
Countries like the Democratic Republic of Congo have been hit especially hard with cases also spotted in Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, and Kenya.
However, experts say fatality rates of clade 1b from central Africa are unlikely to be replicated in developed nations like the UK due to better access to higher quality healthcare.
As of October 20, 16 cases of clade Ib have been reported in the UK since the strain emerged, all in England.
Healthcare workers and men who have sex with men are advised to receive a vaccine even if they have had no mpox exposure.
There are no direct treatments available with medics focused instead on supporting a patient to help their body fight off the virus.

I argue consistently, with people who relay as fact, that homosexuals are born that way. The truth is, they are formed that way. Early molestation, by an older male, sets their pattern. Ask any sodomite at what year they first had sexual contact, then the age of the person who they had contact with.
It is not normal to have 100’s or 1,000’s of sexual contacts per year. It is deviant behavior brought on by a damaged body and soul.

They left out bisexuals, prostitutes(deadnaming) . and “wrestlers”.
The odd thing is that the people who made the recommendation must know that people who claim they had no exposure probably do have exposure. So they better get a vaccine...keep on effing around....never mind you spreading morbidity and mortality to the mix of human existence.
