Chicago is the White Democrat’s Detroit and has been for a long time. For the past several years White Democrats in Lansing have been content to let Detroit circle the drain of extinction. They knew the steps that had to be taken; forcing the city to live within its dwindling means; attacking the ever growing crime problem; doing something – anything- about the town’s “Worst in America” school system and flushing out the sewer that Detroit’s City hall has become. Ingham County Circuit Judge Rosemary Aquillina ordered on Friday that Detroit’s bankruptcy be withdrawn, citing a concern that government employees’ pensions would be endangered by federal bankruptcy proceedings, The Detroit News reports. “It’s cheating, sir, and it’s cheating good people who work,” the judge told assistant Attorney General Brian Devlin on Friday, adding that she will ensure that President Barack Obama gets a copy of her order. “It’s also not honoring the president, who took [Detroit’s auto companies] out of bankruptcy.” At the same time, Aquillina voiced her confidence that Obama would ensure that pension guarantees were protected and honored....

Americans are holding onto cars and trucks longer, pushing the average age of a vehicle to a record 10.8 years. The Polk research firm said Tuesday that the average age of a car last July was 11.1 years, while the truck average was 10.4. Unemployment and the sour economy have caused people to put off buying cars and trucks. Polk says the average vehicle age has been rising since 2008. Ford Motor Co. took the first step in its next restructuring by confirming it plans to trim up to 4000 white-collar jobs in North America by the end of March.
