The First Circuit Court of Appeals on Tuesday (for now) sided with the Biden judge who blocked the Trump Administration from dismantling the Department of Education. Last Thursday a federal judge blocked the Trump administration from dismantling the department of education. In March, President Trump signed an executive order to dismantle the Department of Education. “We’ve got to get the federal government out of education,” Trump declared. “The Department of Education has become a bloated bureaucracy that’s more interested in pushing its own agenda than in helping our kids learn. It’s time to put the power back in the hands...

Michael Mann, a prominent climate scientist and professor at the University of Pennsylvania, sparked controversy on May 23, 2025, by posting on the Bluesky social media platform: “If Trump doesn’t comply, we’re in second amendment territory.” The statement was made in response to a report on a federal judge’s ruling that blocked President Trump’s executive order to dismantle the Department of Education, appearing to suggest people take up arms to overthrow or assassinate the America First leader. The May 22 injunction froze the administration’s plan to eliminate the department, which included terminating around 1,300 employees. Mann’s post—interpreted by many as...

President Trump signed an executive order on Wednesday, revoking an anti-white racist Obama-Biden era school discipline guidance that was issued by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Department of Education (DOE) in January 2014. The President signed a total of seven new education executive orders relating to college universities, AI in education, and DEI practices in schools. “The Federal Government will no longer tolerate known risks to children’s safety and well-being in the classroom that result from the application of school discipline based on discriminatory and unlawful ‘equity’ ideology,” the order titled “Reinstating Common Sense School Discipline Policies” reads. In...

On February 14, the Department of Education officially notified educational institutions receiving federal funding that they must cease race-based practices—including admissions, hiring, promotion, scholarships, administrative support, discipline, and sanctions. The potential loss of federal funding is offered as a consequence for noncompliance. This directive comes on the heels of President Donald Trump’s January 21 executive order aimed at “ending illegal discrimination and restoring merit-based opportunity.” In recent years, many universities had ramped up DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) programs on campus—some admittedly as a response to the death of George Floyd and the resulting racial climate. Initiatives have run the...

President Donald Trump expressed that he wants the Department of Education to be “closed immediately,” describing it as a “big con job.” When asked by a reporter how soon Trump wanted the Department of Education to be closed, Trump criticized how the United States education system was ranked 40th compared to other countries but ranked number one in terms of “costs per pupil.” “Oh, I’d like it to be closed immediately,” Trump answered. “Look, the Department of Education is a big con job. We’re ranked — so they ranked the top forty countries in the world. We’re ranked number 40th,...

The Department of Education used $1.2M of your tax dollars to fund an LGBTQIA+ Pride Center at San Diego community colleges. To make matters worse, it appears that they used some sort of disaster fund to do this. Our taxes have been a slush fund for leftists. ... $1.2 million for Pride Centers at San Diego colleges? Ideological grifting at its finest. Jacobs says it's for staffing and resources, but what about border security or veterans' care? Taxpayers need accountability, not woke slush funds. How about using this cash for real priorities?

Footage emerged this morning showing Democrats led by Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) trying to barge their way into the Department of Education building in their latest pathetic publicity stunt following other protests earlier this week. As TGP readers know, the Trump White House on Tuesday drafted an executive order to abolish the Department of Education, a significant campaign promise by President Trump. After officers refused to let them in, Democrats immediately melted down and began bullying the guards. Some also started comparing one security officer defending the building to segregationists blocking black kids from entering schools during the Jim Crow...

The Department of Government Efficiency has been on a tear in DC. They’re acting like they have a mandate from the 2024 election, and they do. They’re uprooting, exposing, and shining light on the numerous pipelines of government waste and left-wing extremism that’s infected DC. They’re also clearing up many administrative issues, like worthless leases on government offices that are barely used. The DC bureaucratic class has tried to fight back. They can’t win. Those who stand in DOGE’s way are put on administrative leave. Give them access to the systems or else. Treasury, USAID, and the Small Business Administration...

“I will shut down the federal Department of Education, and we will move everything back to the states where it belongs!”
-
As the Trump administration evaluates the Department of Education and hopefully plans to shut the whole thing down, the current thought is to distribute those funds to other agencies or send certain elements of funding back to the states. Actually, there are large swaths of Department of Education functions and funding that need to be eliminated altogether. In other words, these programs should not be sent to states where they can become bloated little fiefdoms driven by the progressive agenda. So what should stay and what should go? Here is my “death wish” list for certain programs/policies at the Department...

A report showed that nearly 70% of enforcement actions executed by the Biden administration’s Education Department targeted faith-based and career schools. A report showed that nearly 70% of enforcement actions executed by the Biden administration’s Education Department targeted faith-based and career schools… “As our report details, the Biden-Harris Department of Education has been engaged in a long-running scheme to punish Christian colleges that are ideologically opposed to the left’s agenda. The unfair targeting of these institutions has been egregious, and it needs to stop immediately.” The APP notes that two of the nation’s most prominent Christian universities, Grand Canyon University...

Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, appointments of President-elect Donald Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency, gave their approval to a proposal that abolishes the Department of Education. Corey DeAngelis, who is a senior fellow at the American Culture Project, posted on X that the Department of Education failed an audit for the third year in a row. "Abolish it," DeAngelis, a prominent school choice advocate, wrote. "Very reasonable proposal." Ramaswamy responded. "Yes," Musk, the owner of Tesla, added. The Department of Government Efficiency, also called DOGE, is aimed at suggesting ways to dismantle government bureaucracy and restructure federal agencies in order...

WASHINGTON (AP) — Throughout his campaign, President-elect Donald Trump heaped scorn on the federal Department of Education, describing it as being infiltrated by “ radicals, zealots and Marxists.” He has picked Linda McMahon, a former wrestling executive, to lead the department. But like many conservative politicians before him, Trump has called for dismantling the department altogether — a cumbersome task that likely would require action from Congress. The agency's main role is financial. Annually, it distributes billions in federal money to colleges and schools and manages the federal student loan portfolio. Closing the department would mean redistributing each of those...

General Michael Flynn joined Steve Bannon on Wednesday following President Trump’s massive victory in the 2024 presidential election on Tuesday. Not only did President Trump win reelection, but Republicans also took the US Senate and the US House of Representatives. On Wednesday morning, Steve Bannon invited General Michael Flynn on The War Room to discuss the election results and the important next steps for President-elect Donald Trump. In 2017, General Flynn, President Trump’s former National Security Advisor, spoke with his old friend Steve Bannon, who was President Trump’s Chief Strategist in 2017 when Trump entered the White House. Little did...

The Biden Regime will get their student loan bailout one way or another. The Department of Education announced on Monday it is withholding $7.2 million from a student loan servicer over billing statement errors that affected 800,000 borrowers. The US Supreme Court in July crushed Joe Biden’s student loan bailout program. Joe Biden unilaterally announced a massive forgiveness of student loans in August 2022 to buy the Gen Z-Millennial vote in the 2022 midterms. Biden canceled over $400 billion in student loans which turned out to be up to $10,000 in student debt for borrowers who earn $125,000 a year...

The Department of Education is withholding federal funding from hunting and archery programs in schools, citing a bipartisan law passed last year that tightened restrictions around gun purchases in the wake of a deadly school shooting in Texas. A spokesperson for the Department of Education said that the 2022 Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, passed in the wake of the massacre at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, requires the department to withhold certain grant funds from archery and hunting programs in schools, according to Fox News. "The prohibition went into effect immediately on June 25, 2022, and applies to all...

Well, well, well… This is interesting. U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland recently instructed the FBI to begin investigating parents who confront school board administrators over Critical Race Theory indoctrination material. The U.S. Department of Justice issued a memorandum to the FBI instructing them to initiate investigations of any parent attending a local school board meeting who might be viewed as confrontational, intimidating or harassing. Attorney General Merrick Garland’s daughter is Rebecca Garland. In 2018 Rebecca Garland married Xan Tanner [LINK].
