  • The American Spirit and COVID — A Warning and a Laugh

Post your COVID insanity story here. Before I kick this off with my story, I observe Saint Fauci proclaims wearing masks is critical to protecting American lives, but if wearing a mask is necessary to save lives, how does Fauci explain homeless people? They hardly wash their hands, seldom practice social distancing, and don’t appear to ever wear a mask, BUT we aren't seeing droves of dead homeless people littering the streets. And. . .Why do Americans appear to be spring-loaded to following every government edict, no matter how silly? Which brings me to my COVID silliness experience. . .

Wall Street elite who flocked to Florida to ride out the COVID-19 crisis now have regrets — and are eyeing a move back to the Big Apple. “The main problem with moving to Florida is that you have to live in Florida,” Jason Mudrick, the founder of Mudrick Capital Management, told Bloomberg. Those among the upper crust are being drawn back to New York for its choice selection of private schools, restaurants and cultural institutions — as well as the city’s deep pool for young talent when it comes to finance jobs. “New York has the smartest, most driven people,...

A third woman, 33-year-old Anna Ruch, on Monday stepped forward to accuse New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) of sexual harassment. Ruch met Cuomo at a mutual friend's wedding reception in Sept. 2019. The two had a discussion after Cuomo offered positive thoughts about the newlyweds. According to The New York Times, Cuomo allegedly placed his hand on Ruch's lower back, which she removed with her own. He allegedly said she was "aggressive," placed his hands on her cheeks, and loudly asked if he could kiss her. As Cuomo leaned in to kiss her, Ruch pulled away. “I was so...
  • House Democrats ask Biden to give up sole power to launch nuclear bomb

Over thirty House Democrats are asking President Biden to consider renouncing his authority to launch nuclear weapons. In terms of alternatives, the two California Democrats suggested a number of options. One would be to require that the vice president and speaker of the House of Representatives concur with the president’s decision to strike. Another option would be requiring certifications from the secretary of defense that the strike order was valid, as well as the attorney general that it was legal.

Hot Air reports: Say, Why Are House Dems Calling On Biden To Give Up Full Control Of Nuclear Weapons? Which answer do you want first — the fun answer, or the better answer? Let’s start off with the fun answer, but first, let’s specify precisely what House Democrats want from Joe Biden. A letter signed by three dozen of his party’s caucus urges the new president to relinquish full control over the country’s nuclear weapons in favor of a committee approach… From Politico: Nearly three dozen House Democrats on Monday called on Biden to relinquish his sole authority to launch...
  • What Exactly Is Ted Cruz Supposed To Do About A Snowstorm In His Home State?

Senators make laws, provide for the common defense, they don't shovel snow or repair power grids Here’s what a U.S. senator does: Make laws, authorize and appropriate federal funds, provide for the common defense and the general welfare, regulate commerce among the states and with foreign nations, declare war and maintain and regulate the military, impeach federal officers including the president, advise and consent to treaties and appointments of judges and federal officials. Cruz was seen boarding a plane and, with social media, the photos quickly went viral. What followed was the dumbest “scandal” ever. The New York Times did...

Mea culpa. There is structural and systemic racism in the United States. The inconvenient truth is that it is perpetrated, propagated, and perpetuated by the Left. Birthed in the cesspool of radical Left university departments, demagogic terms like white privilege, whiteness, or white fragility are part of a poisonous and dangerous ideology that is meant to divide rather than unite. Critical race theory and racial equality can be summed up in a single statement: if you are white, you are racist and if you are a person of color, you are oppressed. The combination of white guilt plus black victimhood is...

In the wake of the passage of the $1.9 trillion coronavirus stimulus package, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich on Friday predicted the Democrats will throw away their control of Congress with a “radical” budget agenda. Gingrich told Fox News Channel’s “America’s Newsroom” that the Democrats “have clearly decided” they will “go for broke on a radical agenda.” He said this “almost certainly guarantees” House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) will take over House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) role.
  • Dems: Trump aimed "loaded cannon" of supporters at Capitol

WASHINGTON (AP) — Donald Trump endangered the lives of all members of Congress when he aimed a mob of supporters “like a loaded cannon” at the U.S. Capitol, House Democrats said Tuesday in making their most detailed case yet for why the former president should be convicted and permanently barred from office. Trump denied the allegations through his lawyers and called the trial unconstitutional. The Democratic legal brief forcefully linked Trump’s baseless efforts to overturn the results of the presidential election to the deadly Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol, saying he bears “unmistakable” blame for actions that threatened the...

Life Under Liberalism’s Lies Even as liberals deny the most basic biological realities, they hold themselves out as champions of “science.” The transgenderism to which they subscribe rests on an obvious repudiation of science. Calling men women and women men represents the triumph of a reality-defying subjectivism in our public life. During the Trump years, we heard a lot from Democrats about the importance of “norms.” But most of their energy is devoted to blowing them up, particularly moral norms. For all of his talk of restoring “truth,” “facts,” and “science” to the White House, Joe Biden peddles that fantasy more...

RUSH: We just have a new sound bite here from Nancy Pelosi, CNN’s Newsroom. She was talking with the correspondent Manu Raju. Manu Raju reported about Pelosi’s California call with the House Democrat caucus about possible new articles of impeachment against the Trumpster. RAJU: She’s making very clear that there’s more support for moving forward with impeachment among the House Democratic caucus now than there was the first time Donald Trump was impeached back in 2019. She said that she prefers the president resigning, or Vice President Mike Pence and the cabinet invoking the 25th Amendment to force the president...
  • WSJ: Mr. Biden has said he plans to make a priority of passing a new law against domestic terrorism

Mr. Biden has said he plans to make a priority of passing a law against domestic terrorism, and he has been urged to create a White House post overseeing the fight against ideologically inspired violent extremists and increasing funding to combat them. Federal law defines domestic terrorism as dangerous and illegal acts intended to coerce a population or influence the government. While it can be charged in some states, no generic federal crime exists. Domestic terrorism spans extremist ideologies, but it has been predominantly a far-right phenomenon in recent decades, according to researchers.

Many will say this is peak 2020: The 15th annual New Mexico Bowl will take place in Texas. That’s right, due to the current state guidelines in New Mexico pertaining to COVID-19 cases, Hawaii (4-4) and Houston (3-4) will not play at the bowl’s home since its inception, University Stadium in Albuquerque. Instead, ESPN Events, which owns the bowl, has moved it to Toyota Stadium in Frisco on Thursday. Nonetheless, New Mexico Bowl sponsors such as Visit Albuquerque will support the game, advertise the city’s attractiveness as a place to live, work and play and encourage Texans and those watching...

GOP accuses Pelosi of 'gutting' enforcement against Chinese influence on campus House Democrats stripped down an anti-China bill that unanimously passed in the Senate by removing language reining in Chinese government influence on U.S. campuses. The Senate's National Defense Authorization Act included a provision that authorized the Department of Education to withhold funding from U.S. universities that host Chinese government-backed Confucius Institutes on campus. House Democrats removed the measure from the final version of the bill following negotiations. Louisiana senator John Kennedy (R.), who helped write the anti-Confucius Institute measure, said Democrats led by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had "gutted"...
