@ChadPergram

From colleague Caroline McKee. There is an area encased by Plexiglas in the House Gallery (Gallery 4) where members who have recently been exposed to COVID-19 may vote. Mbrs must be here to vote in person. No remote voting.

I'm guessing is for the (s)election of Pelosi? They need to be there in person as per the constitution.

As I understand it some Democrats have been voting by proxy...

Has the Conquistador lady in the House claimed she's being disenfranchised, yet?

Does she have the votes locked up? It would be amusing if she was denied , some how.

Let the Democrats in the House vote absentee for Nanzi.

They will have to explain how Nanzi Pelosi got 666 votes when there are only 435 members.

The house passed a rule change to allow remote voting. That rule has now sunsetted.

She’s almost certain to win. However bankrupt she may be morally, politically she knows how to make all her party members march in lockstep.

We can’t even get leadership who will work with a sitting president in their own party.

She can only afford to lose 6 of her members in the vote. She was down 10 last time.

But yes, she will probably find the votes but i’m keeping an eye on it for any potential drama...

When you have the votes you need, you allow the people in competitive districts to “vote their conscience” so the issue can’t be used against them in the next campaign. When things get close, you start bashing heads and pull those people in.

Who's running against her? Or does it matter?

What's it called when you have an election and only one person is on the ballot?

@ChadPergram

Breakdown in the House is 220 Democrats. 207 Republicans.
That means Pelosi can only lose six members. She needs an outright majority of the entire House at this stage, 427 mbrs

No clue what happens if it doesn’t work out..

@ChadPergram

Two defections so far from Pelosi. Dem ME Rep Golden votes for Dem IL Sen Duckworth. Dem PA Rep Lamb votes for Dem Caucus Chair Jeffries. Pelosi can only lose 6 by our calculations if all 427 current House members vote
