Wall Street elite who flocked to Florida to ride out the COVID-19 crisis now have regrets — and are eyeing a move back to the Big Apple.
“The main problem with moving to Florida is that you have to live in Florida,” Jason Mudrick, the founder of Mudrick Capital Management, told Bloomberg.
Those among the upper crust are being drawn back to New York for its choice selection of private schools, restaurants and cultural institutions — as well as the city’s deep pool for young talent when it comes to finance jobs.
“New York has the smartest, most driven people, the best culture, the best restaurants and the best theaters,” the Manhattan resident of more than two decades admitted to the outlet.
“Anyone moving to Florida to save a little money loses out on all of that.”

My travel time counts as being in my established residence.
Time away at school or medical treatment also counts as home residence time.

Occupy Wall Street started when those NYC finance firms imported foreigners to take those jobs from Americans.

The went to Florida, and then Florida voted for Trump, and that’s something that others in their NYC circles can NEVER forgive them for.
As to NYC, it is a FAR DIFFERENT city for this bunch than normal people. They have layers of protection against the crime, the vagrants, the filth, and everything else (correctly) associated with today’s NYC. That’s why they’re coming back.
Because they think they won’t have to pay for the privilege now that Deep State has bailed out NYC and NYS.
But I’ve got news for the rich...
They might move back, though talk is cheap, but the people working for them won’t. Those folks can’t afford to get screwed again.
The rich who move back will likely have to find this out the hard way, though.
