First on TVNewser: Longtime CNN anchor Daryn Kagan is departing the network this fall. In an internal announcement this morning, Kagan said she has been "grateful for the experience." In one of talk radio's oddest recent moves, the syndicated "Savage Nation" host has made a public call for several new "sidekicks" and even a possible co-host. After a sloppy attack on conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh and CNN's Daryn Kagan, a liberal "media watchdog" site has taken a major credibility hit. Gossipy and conspiratorial in nature, the October 6 story at David Brock's Media Matters For America falsely suggested Kagan was sending Limbaugh love notes after a speech by President Bush. Worse, it suggested her relationship with Rush was adversely affecting on-air news judgement. At least that's how the allegations appear to the Radio Equalizer. The popular radio host returns to bachelor status after ending his marriage with his third wife, Marta. The paper said Circuit Judge Sandra Taylor "issued the final judgment Dec. 21 and sealed the 22-page settlement agreement, according to Monroe County (Key West) Circuit Court records." Talk radio king Rush Limbaugh 's crush on CNN's Daryn Kagan may be moving past the hand-holding stage. Friends of the lovebirds tell us that they are whispering about marriage, just as soon as Limbaugh's third divorce goes through.
