First on TVNewser: Longtime CNN anchor Daryn Kagan is departing the network this fall. In an internal announcement this morning, Kagan said she has been "grateful for the experience." She will stay in her regular anchor slot until September 1, an insider says.
Kagan is launching an "online venture" at DarynKagan.com on November 13. The site says: "One woman. One radical idea: The world is a good place. Stop in for daily inspiration to improve your world. Launching in 15 weeks! November 13, 2006."
Kagan has been at CNN for 12 years. "The conventional wisdom here is that Heidi Collins will replace her," the insider suggests...

Used to cover sports on CNN, before anchoring. Also dated Rush Limbaugh. Maybe still does?

Yes, for a few months. I don't know if they're still together or what. Certainly sounds like he's influenced her.

Are Daryn's Days Numbered At CNN?
What's Happening At CNN reports rumors that
Daryn Kagan has been passed over "for any and all promotion[s]" due to her relationship with
Rush Limbaugh.

TVNewser heard similar rumblings last week, and received this anonymous tip: "Daryn Kagan is very upset that because of her relationship with Rush she is being overlooked for any and all openings at CNN. Her current time slot is constantly being preempted by the O'Brien's on breaking news days. She is just gathering her paycheck now as she thinks she will not be there by the end of summer."

This afternoon a CNN spokesperson had no comment on the subject, offering the usual response: "We don't comment on gossip or personnel matters."

Update: 5:10pm: Is Kagan's contract up in November?

>
Update: 5:16pm: "I'm a CNNer and I can tell you that when she anchors her show, during commerical breaks, she AOL IM's with Rush from the set," a tipster says. "It's HIGHLY innappropriate, and I, for one, won't be sad to see her leave."

I pity the poor ex-CNN anchorette/newsreader who's now hawking real estate investment schemes on TV ... can't recall her name at the moment.

All the good ones leave first. All the good ones have already left: Bill Hemmer, Major Garrett, Rudy Bakhtiar, Steve Harrigan, Greta Van Susteren, etc.

The horror of it all!! A newsanchor who wants to report on good news instead of concentrating on the negatives!!
Sounds like maybe she was a moderate to conservative afterall?

"DarynKagan.com? For that you quit your day job? HAHAHAHAHA."
yeah she is stupid to quit cnn.com which started as a extremely risky effort to create an all news channel.
google, Apple, microsoft, Dell and HP are a few other examples of companies which started with extremely humble circumstances.
I say good for her, the false security of corporate america is too close to socialism for me personally.
