GARDEN GROVE (CBS) — An Albertson’s supermarket on Harbor Boulevard was evacuated Monday after a burglary suspect fell through the ceiling to the ground near a cash register. Police say around 9:30 p.m., a female shopper reported seeing a man’s leg descend from the ceiling before disappearing again. The customer then alerted the store’s manager, before the suspect suddenly came crashing to the ground by the checkout lane.

A road-rage incident late Wednesday night in Lancaster led to a scuffle that ended when one of the combatants pulled out a gun and accidentally shot himself in the leg, Lancaster police said today. A man was killed Friday night after he was run over and killed by a vehicle he fell out of and other vehicles on the Southwest Freeway, police said. The man, identified as William Thayer, 23, was riding in a passenger seat in a Ford pickup opened a passenger door to urinate on the freeway while the vehicle was moving at freeway speed, police said. Thayer, who police said was intoxicated, fell out of the truck around 10 p.m. and was run over by the truck and other vehicles before traffic could be diverted. Police are investigating the incident.

A rookie Roswell police officer shot and killed a suspect Monday afternoon after the man allegedly snatched a bag from a car in a shopping center parking lot. Roswell police Sgt.
