15 Then Esther sent this reply to Mordecai: 16 “Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my attendants will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.” 17 So Mordecai went away and carried out all of Esther’s instructions. Esther 4:15-17

1:03 On Wednesday’s “CNN Newsroom,” New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham (D) said that people can dance at weddings “if you’re socially distanced and you’re wearing a mask and you meet the other requirements with our level of vaccinations,” and praised D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser (D), who has implemented an outright ban on dancing at wedding receptions, by stating that “it takes courage to be really clear about what constitutes high-risk activities and behaviors.” Host Alisyn Camerota asked, “Is there dancing allowed in New Mexico, governor?

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Tuesday praised House Republican Conference Chairwoman Liz Cheney (R-WY) for her “courage” and “patriotism” as the Wyoming Republican faces intense blowback for her sharp criticism of former President Donald Trump. “I do commend Lynne Cheney for her courage, for her patriotism,” Pelosi said, mistakenly referring to Liz Cheney as Lynne, who is the congresswoman’s mother and wife of former Vice President Dick Cheney.

What are we willing to die for? Should American soldiers die in the Middle East or risk their lives in the South China Sea or should they take on drug pushers and people smuggling criminals on the Mexican border?

One of Jesus’s last acts before his crucifixion was the incident we know as “the cleansing of the temple,” when he thew the money changers out of the Temple in Jerusalem for defiling God’s house. That image came inexorably to my mind when I saw the video of a Canadian pastor, through sheer force of will, sending eight COVID cops, many of them armed, out of the church. Visually, the video is simple but compelling. The church is on the second story of a building with a stairway leading directly from the front door up to the place where the...

There’s always an uproar when we see Asian-Americans being beaten to a pulp or murdered on video and the people around them just stare instead of intervene. But why are we surprised? They are just doing exactly what society has told them to do. It’s not necessarily cowardice. They are making an entirely rational choice based on our society’s unequivocal message that we should stand back and watch. If we, as a society, want to have people leap into the fray, and I would like that, then we need to do the things that make it a rational choice to...

Gina Carano is “not currently employed by Lucasfilm,” the company said in a statement Wednesday after controversy erupted over “The Mandalorian” star’s social media posts. “Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future,” a Lucasfilm spokesperson said in a statement. “Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.” Carano shared several offensive posts on her Instagram stories Tuesday night, including one that likened contemporary political differences to the treatment of Jews in Nazi Germany. “Jews were beaten in...

I stood between the Lord and you at that time, to declare to you the word of the Lord; for you were afraid because of the fire, and you did not go up the mountain.

So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”

I called on the Lord in distress; The Lord answered me and set me in a broad place. The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?

Christmas Eve was supposed to be nice. I made every effort — procuring the traditional Costco spiral ham and cheerfully doing all of the other Christmasy things Mrs. Claus pulls off each year. What I failed to factor in was the threat of arrest and an epic violation of my right to free exercise of religion. Rookie mistake. Our state is governed by a petty tyrant. We’ve had a mask mandate since June and because he has unchecked power and was just reelected, he extends mandates in perpetuity. He has done his best to suck joy out of everything. Unlike...

i keep hearing that there is a way for pence to declare many of the EC votes fraudulent. if pence is given the exclusive responsibility to "count" the votes, then even if alternative state EC slate votes are not formally "delivered" to pence, what if anything would prevent pence from inventing a new concept such as "senate presidential notice" and applying it on the fly to the 2020 election, voiding sufficient EC slates of some corrupt swing states such that the election is thrown to congress? a rule of thumb i have often heard in engineering is that the cost...

It’s very sad when you see someone wasting away due to their own poor choices in life. Quite often nowadays, I see reports in the news about people being arrested for their 5th, 6th, 7th (or more) drunken driving offense. And we’ve all seen mug shots of those arrested on drug charges… and the photos showing the progression of someone that took the one-way downward spiral using heroin or Methamphetamine. Those images are haunting. They begin with a young, happy, vibrant, bright-eyed, healthy young man or woman, and each one that follows becomes more and more disturbing. In the end,...

Dear "Freepers," No new article from me today. I'm taking the day off but I wanted to write something just for you. Y'know, a lot of you have messaged me privately to express appreciation for my articles and I love you for it. It's my pleasure to write for you. Writing is so enthralling, I'd rather write than eat. True! Maybe you message me privately because of the dynamic on this site. Other sites have trolls...easily ignored. This site is different. There's a spirit of toxicity that keeps the good people quiet. A very few will speak up or even...

On a recent episode of the Freedom-Center/Glazov Gang webinar series, Anni Cyrus discussed with Barak Lurie the subject of fear. The episode, 2020: The Year of Fear, couldn’t have been more aptly titled. Lurie identified both the country’s response to COVID-19 (what I refer to as “The Internment”) and the normalization of leftist violence and intimidation for which the death of George Floyd was used as a pretext as the two phenomena that most saliently underscore the primacy of fear in 2020. To his credit, Lurie recognizes that 2020, far from being sui generis, is in fact the most...
