15 Then Esther sent this reply to Mordecai: 16 “Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my attendants will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.”

17 So Mordecai went away and carried out all of Esther’s instructions.

A cathode-ray tube (CRT) is a vacuum tube containing one or more electron guns, the beams of which are manipulated to display images on a phosphorescent screen.[2] The images may represent electrical waveforms (oscilloscope), pictures (television set, computer monitor), radar targets, or other phenomena. A CRT on a television set is commonly called a picture tube. CRTs have also been used as memory devices, in which case the screen is not intended to be visible to an observer. (Wikipedia)

Heh, you know what.. that is a strangely accurate statement on multiple levels going back decades. It even relates to my tag line.

I like being smacked by the obvious. :)

From Middle English engyneour, engineour, from Old French engigneor, engignier, from engin or from Medieval Latin ingeniator (“one who creates or one who uses an engine”), from ingenium (“nature, native talent, skill”), from in (“in”) + gignere (“to beget, produce”), Old Latin genere; see ingenious hence “one who produces or generates [new] things”.

There are shirts that read “I’m an engineer, to save time let’s just assume I’m right.” ;-)
