NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A man was taken into custody Monday morning after police say he assaulted a sergeant with a caustic substance. According to investigators, the sergeant was standing outside the Dunkin Donuts on North Military Highway when a man walked up and threw something into his face. Police say the sergeant was not on a call at the time. A preliminary investigation found that the incident was unprovoked. They do not know yet what was thrown at the officer, only that it was a caustic substance, something that caused immediate burning to the sergeant’s eyes, face and neck....

WASHINGTON – Bill Clinton was hit with caustic criticism Tuesday from his wife's Democratic rivals, who accused the popular former president of falsely comparing questions about her candor to smears of past campaigns. In a presidential nomination fight growing more intense by the day, Illinois Sen. Barack Obama also criticized the former first lady for having voted in the Senate against incentives for ethanol production and higher fuel efficiency standards. And 2004 vice presidential nominee John Edwards challenged her to spell out what she would do about Iraq. The week after Hillary Rodham Clinton's campaign accused her rivals of “piling...

Senator Clinton, dropping her recent attempts at moderation, launched a scathing attack on Washington Republicans yesterday, lambasting President Bush as someone who sold out America's economic viability to the government of China and accusing congressional Republicans of making the House of Representatives a GOP dictatorship. Mrs. Clinton delivered those and other broadsides at a breakfast held at the New York Hilton hotel by the New York Women for Hillary, a $210-a-seat fund-raising event that organizers said attracted more than 1,000 people and generated about $250,000 for Mrs. Clinton's campaign for re-election in 2006. New York's junior senator is also considered...

A bitter-sounding Sen. John Kerry dismissed the historic Iraqi election on Sunday, warning Americans not to "overhype" the watershed event. "No one in the United States should try to overhype this election," Kerry told NBC's "Meet the Press." The failed presidential candidate questioned the historic referendum's legitimacy, saying, "It's hard to say that something is legitimate when a whole portion of the country can't vote and doesn't vote." Kerry also pooh-poohed reports of a surprisingly high 72 percent turnout by Iraqi voters, insisting instead that the election has "gone as expected." Asked if he thought Iraq was now less of...

In microlensing, the gravity of stars near the line of sight can act to magnify the light of background objects such as distant stars, or quasars. Nowhere is this magnification greater than near a gravitational lensing...

NOTE: Although a very big business deal is being worked on this weekend as I fight the terrorist b*stards, I am heartbroken that I won't get to meet Laura in Vegas. Mrs. DFU knows that I think she is really hot so she isn't heartbroken at all. Yeah, she is hot-looking all right, but her most endearing feature is a caustic wit. ===================================== MIDI - TELL LAURA I LOVE HER She's heard each day on the radio…we cheer --- Laura, way to go! She is the liberals'…worst nightmare…they all fear her show Always mocking witch Hillary…and, of course, Teddy Kennedy...
