HOPATCONG, N.J. (AP) — A cable TV repairman got quite a surprise when he walked into the basement of a New Jersey home. There was a 500-pound bear sound asleep on the floor.

MONTESANO, Wash. -- Yesterday, they were installing TVs. Today, two Comcast employees are being featured on them, after their heroics helped capture an escaped jail inmate. "You could see just embarrassment on his face, like, 'Really? I just got caught by a couple of cable guys?' which is fantastic," said Jeff Furth, a field technician for Comcast. "It was a great feeling to help out."

CHP investigators have arrested a 40-year-old cable TV installer in connection to the series of sniper attacks on Inland Empire Freeways. For weeks now, someone has been shooting out the rear windows of SUVs on the freeway. On Thursday, CHP investigators said they caught the suspect red-handed as he shot at an Escalade as he drove along Interstate 15 at the 38 in Wrightwood. One of the great injustices ever done to a movie was the lousy reviews many critics gave to one of the greatest comedy flicks ever---"The Cable Guy." Apparently the critics wanted another "Ace Ventura" and Jim Carrey gave them an incredible performance as a creepy cable guy. The dark humor of the movie frightened the critics and many of them panned the performance. Hey critics! It can't all be sweetness and light like the Ace Ventura movies.
