Foeller and Dilley said Obama ate half of a cheese sandwich and skipped the ham in his split pea soup. "He's a pretty tall and slender guy," said Dilley. "Maybe that's why."

CHIEF JUSTICE ROBERTS: Why didn't Congress call it a tax, then? SG VERRILLI: Well - CHIEF JUSTICE ROBERTS: You're telling me they thought of it as a tax, they defended it on the tax power. Why didn't they say it was a tax? SG VERRILLI: They might have thought, Your Honor, that calling it a penalty as they did would make it more effective in accomplishing its objective. But it is — in the Internal Revenue Code it is collected by the IRS on April 15th. I don't think this is a situation in which you can say - CHIEF...

Sandwiched between two respected Texas historians on a hard church pew, the compact Englishman looks nervous, stroking his stubbled chin as he eyes 60 or so people crowded into the Buffalo Gap Chapel waiting for the sound of that voice they couldn't have escaped hearing over the last 40 years.

would seem so, from this blog entry, which Davis posted this morning: The question has arisen, and here is the answer. My contract with WBAP's new owners, Cumulus, ended last week and we have been unable to reach an agreement on a renewal. I will be in all the other places I occupy-- Fox 4 and WFAA, and my column in the Dallas Morning News-- and I will be here in the blogosphere every day, often multiple times, with my thoughts on matters large and small. Keep a good thought for all my friends at BAP, and treat them with...

Occupy Wall Street is an un-American movement generated by an un-American depiction of our country. In 2008, the leaders of the Democratic Party painted the United States as a “decaying, racist, capitalist realm,” unable to provide medical care for the poor, to rebuild her “crumbling schools,” or to replace the “shuttered mills that once provided a decent life for men and women of every race.”

Mr.Obama, this is a petition for you to publicly recognize, whether in a live speech, or in one of your weekly youtube addresses, the #occupywallstreet movement that is currently taking place in NYC. These men and women are trying to send a message to their fellow Americans and to the world- the big banks and the super-rich, who is "buying out congress", are the primary drivers of the ongoing recession. Unfortunately, they are largely being ignored by the media in the United States due to the "small size" of the protests. Note that "small size" has not deterred Fox, CNN...

“To our son, his excellency, Mr Baracka Hussein Obama. I have said to you before, that even if Libya and the United States of America enter into a war, god forbid, you will always remain a son. Your picture will not be changed. I want you to remain in the same image. I have all the people of Libya with me, and I’m prepared to die and we have all the men, children and women with me. Nothing more. Al Qaeda is an armed organization, passing through Algeria, Mauritania and Mali. What would you do if you found them controlling...

There is a Wisconsin Supreme Court election on April 5th that pits an incumbent Republican and a Democrat. A Democrat win could change the balance of power in the Wisconsin Courts and thus have an influence on any court challenges to the collective bargaining bill that is being passed today. The candidates are limited in the money they can take from traditional sources (whatever that means), but the kossacks and Actblue are trying to raise lots of money for this election. This of course would be an earlier salvo than any recall election and may be an important indicator of...

Gun used in Mexico slaying of U.S. agent came from Texas; Authorities say a gun sold legally at a U.S. gunshop to a U.S. citizen was then smuggled into Mexico, where it was one of those used by a Zeta drug cartel hit squad to kill a U.S. federal agent last month.

AT&T paid about $2.4 billion last year to cover medical costs of its 283,000 active workers, according to one document. If the company were to push all those workers onto subsidized exchanges, AT&T estimated, it would only have to pay an annual penalty of $600 million, or $2,000 a worker.

The dKos/R2K poll of the 2009 Virginia election had predicted the 18-29 bloc would be 16% and the 60+ bloc would be 15% of the electorate. As a result, dKos/R2K came up with a 10% margin of victory for Bob McDonnell, when the actual margin turned out to be a 17.5% blowout. (The dKos/R2K poll also underestimated the margin of Chris Christie’s win in NJ and was the worst poll in the closing days for Scott Brown in MA.) Dems have tended to rationalize these recent losses by saying that Creigh Deeds was a bad candidate in Virginia, Martha Coakley...
