• Why Bill Clinton won't ever be referred to by his initials by the left

I was thinking about how the Dims like to refer to some of their past presidents by their initials rather than names, such as LBJ, JFK and FDR. Suddenly I realized why they won't do this with Clinton. His initials would be BJC! I wish I'd have thought of this 20 yrs ago, but it is not too late. We can start referring to Hillery as MRS. BJC!

Stop the roundabouts The vast majority of us hate roundabouts. Unfortunately, the state Department of Transportation loves them, as do their close friends, the road builders. Why the road builders love them is simple - they can charge us 10 times more to put them in. Sadly, the DOT prefers to make its friends happy rather than the taxpayers. They now have taken to trying to hide their plans from us by referring to them as "broad, looping, free-flowing." Often we will be told that they work so well in Europe. However, Europe's idea of a big truck is about...

GREECE Lesson on spending Greek civilization has lasted for thousands of years. It has survived domination by Persia, Turkey, Rome and Nazis. It has survived untold natural disasters including the 300-year-long "little ice age." It has survived the Dark Ages, famines, plagues and internal struggles. It has survived invasions and domination. It has survived two world wars and the Cold War. One of the world's oldest and most formative civilizations may soon face its end by a much more insidious enemy than it has ever faced in its thousands of years of existence. Uncontrolled deficit spending and the welfare state...

I need to know the rules for the Democrat’s class warfare. I understand that we are supposed to hate the rich, but which rich? I don’t understand the rules that separate friend from foe. We are supposed to hate successful manufacturers. But we are supposed to love a man who came to the Senate as a pauper, then used his position to become a multi-millionaire. We are supposed to hate Wall Street Bankers. But we are supposed to love a sleazy ambulance chaser. We are supposed to hate Paris for inheriting millions from a daddy who made it big in...

Was George only wrong on the year? Does anyone else feel like they have stepped into a George Orwell novel? For months after the election Obama’s face was everywhere; I felt like “Big Brother” was watching me. Early into the administration Big Brother told us all that he was open to any ideas to fix the economy, even from Republicans. When a Republican suggested tax cuts he was immediately cut off with, “I’m going to trump you; I won, - we aren’t going to do that”. The Ministry of Truth didn’t see any disconnect. Big Brother campaigned on not following...

GOVERNMENTAL MIND SET Recently I read an internet article about an over population of elk in Rocky Mountain National Park. No hunting is allowed in the park and the elk are destroying the vegetation that they and other animals need. Colorado’s solution is to spend $18 million over the next 20 years to pay people to shoot 700 elk a year and pay other people to remove the elk carcasses. This plan got me thinking about the mindset of governmental officials. It seems they would rather spend money to achieve goals than to achieve the same goals with less effort...

LONDON (Reuters) - Britain's biggest theme park has called off the country's first "National Muslim Fun Day" because of lack of interest, the park said Wednesday. Alton Towers in central England was to open on September 17 for Muslims -- with halal food, a strict dress code and prayer areas. Music, gambling and alcohol were to be banned for the day and theme park rides such as "Ripsaw," "Corkscrew" and "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" all segregated by sex. But the park said the event's organizers, Islamic Leisure, who rented the park for the day and were marketing the event,...

SAVE A DESPONDENT LIBERAL After much thought I have realized that given the ‘shock and awe’ nature of John Kerry’s resounding defeat, liberals should be placed on a suicide watch. First came the exit polls showing a Kerry landslide, then a poll came out showing Kerry with over 300 electoral votes. Then the votes began to be counted which dashed all their hopes and dreams. Some have found a way to vent their frustration as the 200 anti-war protesters did in Shitcago (yes, that IS how I spell it; I’m a truck driver!) last night. These liberals will probably recover....

THE PERSECUTION OF RUSH GOES ON MARK A SITY 12/26/03 Years ago, Brett Favre had a problem with pain killers. He was buying them illegally after a prescription ran out for after an injury that still hurt. He became addicted. After the news came out, he apologized to his fans, went into treatment, and all was right with the world. Not a soul seems to be interested in investigating Ozzy Osbourne’s drug use, but there might be a reason for this. Ozzy seems to be attempting to prove the theory of evolution by devolving into lower forms of life before...

LIBERAL ENVRIRONMENTAL POLICIES; COUNTER-PRODUCTIVE, DANGERIOUS AND DEADLY 10/30/03 MARK A SITY At last count there are 20 dead people, 1400 destroyed homes, over ½ million acres of destroyed wildlife habitat, and untold millions of formerly happy and health wild critters now incinerated; they had no place to run to. Some of this destroyed habitat no doubt sheltered and fed threatened and endangered species, many of which are now crispy critters. A few of these may even be the all-important Deli Sands Flower Loving Fly. This was the fly that stopped construction of a hospital because someone thought that maybe he...

I am sick of spam. I have tried blocking senders, they get new acounts daily. I have tried the "unsubscribe" links, some might work, but enough don't (or are ignored) that my e-mail address is sold again and again. I have tried creating mail rules, but they keep changing the spellings and punctuation, or use on and off caps to defeat this, or they advertise a different drug. I have gotten some spam from spam blocking sites, and am wondering if this is cost effective. The latest one I got was for "Spam Remedy 2.3" Has anyone used any of...

REPEATING HISTORY IN CA 10/4/03 MARK A SITY Let me first start this by saying “THANKS ED”, since in WI we have Ed Thompson to thank for splitting our vote and giving us Bingo Jim Doyle as a governor. Our acting governor lost the election by 3%, in large part because Ed took 10% of the vote. True, at least half of his vote was to support gambling, and maybe we’d have lost anyway. But the fact remains that we have a Socialist in the Governor’s mansion today. In IL they can say “thanks Cal”. In 1996 we all could...

A POSSIBLE LETTER FROM GOV GRAY-OUT DAVIS TO GOV RILEY OF AL (This is, of course a parody) 9/10/03 MARK A SITY Dear Gov Riley, It is so sad what has happened to the children these days, I suppose it is our fault for spoiling them so much over the years. They show absolutely no gratitude for all we have done for them. I don’t understand why they have this need to keep all of the allowance we give them, they seem to not understand how important our work is. Our work is much too important for us to be...

PENNY WISE, POUND FOOLISH MARK A SITY 8/19/03 WI, like many states has a budget problem. Unlike normal people those at the state level seem to feel no need to trim expenses when faced with this situation. Rather than cut back on spending there is now a proposal to spend more money on a “study” to look into turning our freeways into toll ways. Our “representatives” want to spend millions of dollars to “study” something they know will never happen. Why do our “representatives” find it so difficult to cut spending? In fact, if we immediately de-funded all “studies” and...

Group Blames U.S. for Anti-Muslim Actions Tue Jul 15, 5:29 PM ET Add White House - AP to My Yahoo! By JENNIFER C. KERR, Associated Press Writer WASHINGTON - Government efforts to crack down on terrorism contributed to an increase in reports of discrimination and harassment of Muslims in the United States last year, an Islamic advocacy group says. The Justice Department (news - web sites) called the allegations "unfair." The Council on American-Islamic Relations said Tuesday that post-Sept. 11 government actions have broadly targeted Arabs and Muslims. "The government has employed and is employing policies and practices based on...

THE ODD LOGIC OF LAWYERS MARK A SITY 5/14/03 Recently in a Chicago suburb a strange ritual took place, a high school hazing incident in which put 5 girls into the hospital with various injuries. Bottles and cans were thrown at younger girls by senior girls, several bones were broken and some of the bottles and cans hit girls in the head. But these were all "good kids", according to one's mother, her daughter "just made a mistake", and she "shouldn't be punished for it for the rest of her life" by being expelled. This mother is also trying to...

Once again we have embarked on road constriction season. Once again I have to wonder at the supposed logic behind the planning. Neither of the two major cities I normally drive through seem to have any concern for the users of the highways when planning road constriction. Both cities have at least 2 routes through or around them, yet both insist on having all potential routes constricted at the same time. I'm sure that we can all agree that removing a lane or two from service will help to create traffic jams. I think we can all also agree that traffic jams add to pollution, road rage, and fuel use. They also increase the chance for accidents. If, in cities with alternate routes (i.e. a bypass route) one of the routes was left barrier free, much of the through traffic would use that route, not only making travel easier and safer for the commuters, but also improving safety for those working on the roads.

Years ago I saw lots of ads for a handgun safe that fit only one handgun, had an imprint of a hand, and was opened by a selected series of finger taps. At the time I did not have a need for one, but thought that some day I would. Well some day is here, and I'd like to get 3 of them (about to move and I want a handgun on each floor). However, I have not seen any ads for them in years. Does anyone know where I can get one, or who makes (or used to make)...
