Odd that you would bring up Richard Pryor. I once worked as a concierge at a boutique apartment community in Washington DC. One of Pryor’s plastic surgeons, Dr. Jack Grossman who performed his surgery lived in the building where I worked. This was during the first Trump Administration. Three military sons in my dad’s family: Bruce, the oldest, was killed in the South Pacific in the prime of his life toward the end of WWII. Keith, the middle plowed through Germany in a tank liberating a concentration camp. He died of cancer in his 80’s after living a wonderful life. My dad, the youngest, enlisted in the army and served during Occupation of Germany after the war. He is still alive at 96.
