ANALYSIS: Murphy Wanted to Increase Taxes By $1.2 Billion More Than Massive Enacted Tax Hikes October 29, 20214 min readDoug Kellogg During his first term, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy proposed over $4 billion in tax hikes, succeeding in increasing taxes by over $2.7 billion on New Jersey residents. That means Governor Murphy wanted more than $1.2 billion in tax hikes that were left on the table – another billion dollar-plus burden for Jersey residents.

“Governor Murphy drastically increased taxes, and his agenda shows he wanted to take even more hard-earned dollars from the pockets of New Jersey families and businesses,” said Americans for Tax Reform President Grover Norquist. “The Governor’s actions are a huge red flag that more will never be enough when it comes to tax hikes.”

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy OMITTING information on the allocation of Taxpayer Funds to Illegal Immigrants until after election

“I think it’s 40 million dollars [being allocated to illegal immigrants], something like that -- and to designate that at this point would be political suicide.”

Top Murphy ally recorded by Project Veritas: Governor’s vax mandate is coming post-Election Day October 25, 20213 min readMatt Rooney Murphy campaign, state Dems fire back, allege “criminal harassment” by controversial guerrilla journalism orgization NEWARK, N.J. – Project Veritas released its latest undercover video on Monday evening, this time featuring prominent New Jersey allies of Governor Phil Murphy suggesting that the Democrat incumbent can be counted upon to implement a COVID-19 vaccine mandate AFTER the November 2nd election.

“He [Murphy] is going to do it [COVID vaccine mandate], but he couldn’t do it before the elections. Because of the independents and the undecided,” Democrat strategist and activist Wendy Martinez told a member of the James O’Keefe-led organization.

“They [independents and undecideds] are all into all the sh*t. My rights, my sh*t — and they don’t care if they kill everybody,” Martinez added, promosing that Murphy “will [implement COVID vaccine mandate], but right now is about him winning. It will be fine.”

James O’Keefe A recent Emerson Poll found Murphy trailing with unaffiliated/independent voters by a wide margin: 56% to 32%. He led GOP challenger Jack Ciattarelli overall by 6-points.

Veritas also caught up with Matthew Urquijo, manager of New Jersey Forward, a coalition of powerful public and private sector interests supportive of Murphy’s governing agenda.

“The problem is right now — because it’s election season – he [Governor Murphy] is not going to have people [in the campaign] say like, ‘We’re gonna have a [COVID vaccine] mandate now,'” said Urquijo. “Because, you know, for some people that’s going to piss them off. I think once, you know, we have a win, he’s like, ‘Alright, guns blazing, like, who cares, I’m in it. Let’s do the mandates, let’s do this, X, Y, and Z.’”

The actual video was posted along with commentary on the Project Veritas YouTube page.

The Governor has repeatedly refused to rule out vaccine passports but has never provided a definite timeline. Murphy even heralded a beta app which could function as a passport back in July.

He’s also mandated vaccines for state employees and contractors, but those declining to be vaccinated can opt for weekly testing.

Team Murphy and state Democrats attemped to preempt the video’s release by dropping a statement around 7:55 p.m. – minutes before the Veritas video went live on YouTube – accusing O’Keefe’s organization of “blatant harassment of women.” The release notably didn’t address the substantive vaccine mandate issue (either disavowing it or owning it) but called upon Ciattarelli to denounce O’Keefe’s tactics.

Murphy’s closing argument: attacking Tesla, declares N.J. will never be affordable October 22, 20212 min readMatt Rooney If you had (1) attacking Elon Musk and (2) doubling down on his prior declaration that people looking for affordability should leave the state on your Election 2021 bingo cards, Save Jerseyans?

Please report to the winner’s circle to collect your prize!

“If your business model includes high value-added, highly skilled workforce, we’re on your list,” Murphy told Bloomberg during a Thursday interview. “We are not going to be the low-cost state to live or work in.”

Murphy also took a jab at Tesla, saying the tech giant’s move to Texas “surprised” him.

He’s not genuinely surprised, folks. Texas is eating our lunch economically AND has still a far lower COVID-19 death rate. What’s more, as we’ve discussed many times right here, New Jersey taxpayers are NOT getting a “value-added” experience. If you don’t believe me, visit the MVC or try to start a small business. But Phil knows that his core voters vote their “values” rather than silly stuff like economics, and so he’s more than willing to take advantage of them and their antipathy for billionaires like Elon.

The problem for Murphy? At least if you believe the latest polling?

Enthusiasm for Democrat values in Trenton and D.C. is waning even among many Democrat voters. Runaway inflation, empty shelves, exploding gas prices, and all of the other insanity we’re weathering right now is clearly driving it. He’s actually got “Bare Shelves” Biden flying in on Monday at a time when the Democrat president’s job approval rating is down to nearly 42%. Biden, like Murphy, continually blames everyone other than himself for the negative consequences of his own terribly bad decisions.

Biden should be half as good at making money as Elon Musk. New Jersey – and other economically stagnant blue states with anemic job growth – could really use a Tesla plant groundbreaking at the moment.

Phil might want to think of a better closing argument with 11 days left to go.

ALERT: New Poll Shows Jack Closing Gap

A new New Jersey gubernatorial poll just out shows Jack Ciattarelli literally breathing down Phil Murphy's neck. Jack has closed the gap and has turned what once was an apparent Murphy triumph into a six-point race that is now thisclose to the poll's four point margin of error. This is all quite startling and we must point out that the poll is already three days old (conducted through 10/18). So, if Jack's been gaining day-by-day these numbers could now be even closer and there's enough time to close this gap (if there really is one) and move ahead. Here are the Emerson College/PIX 11 poll highlights:

Among those very likely to vote, Jack leads Murphy 48 percent to 45 percent. This is the all important enthusiasm factor. Jack's voters appear to be more motivated. Among the critical independent voters, Jack romps 56 percent to 32 percent. Murphy's numbers have not been improving and he can't seem to break 50 percent. He has little or no wiggle room as Jack advances. Voters overwhelmingly identify taxes and jobs (67 percent) as the most important issues in the race. This is not good news for Murphy. Jack's favorables are now as good as Murphy's and Jack has become much better known to voters. In fact, only four percent of voters say they haven't heard of Jack at this point. Among those voters still undecided, Jack is now leading by 60 percent to 40 percent. When those voters are allocated as they now lean, this becomes a four-point race, within the margin of error! Murphy still holds an advantage on the COVID issue but jack has cut that down to four points when voters are asked who could best handle that issue. 51 percent of voters gave Murphy a grade of only C or lower on his handling of hurricane Ida. Not good! Bottom line: This is CLEARLY a winnable race. Jack is within striking distance. Avanti!
