The link to the Ben Smith post is in my post and everyone should read it. Palin went to a Buchanan fundraiser in ‘96. There’s no evidence she ever even gave him money. The Ben Smith article tries to tie her attendance at that event to Buchanan’s views and Smith says that perhaps Wexler is right.
It’s a ridiculous connection. I just called him out on it. :)
“McCain looks far less tough than he pretends to be.”
McCain spent more time in a communist prison than Obama has spent in the Senate. I think his toughness is well established.
I think you really mean to say that you don’t agree with all of his policies. That’s fine. Neither do I. But our choice is not John McCain or some perfect conservative. Our choice is John McCain or Barack Obama. The primaries are over!
Before he was a member of congress he was the head of the state’s health department in the late 90s. So that feat took place years ago. Sorry, I maybe should have delved into the details there. :)
All this talk is irritating to me, because there are some people out there who actually care about winning the war on terror. And the Republican Party in general and John McCain in particular remain our best hope of doing that.
Too often, we make the perfect the enemy of the good. If you don’t think John McCain is ideologically pure enough, that’s fine. But, we’re fighting a war. Human lives hang in the balance. One of two men will take office in January — one will retreat from islamic extremists and the other will accept only victory. That’s the question of this election!
