It is very possible that enough smart democrat utopia marxists who like captalism and lower gas prices or revenge may cross over and vote for the socially liberal McCain so that he may win, but I find the both marxist democrats and socialist liberal republicans repugnant and unworthy to vote for so I will probalbly vote third party conservative as they have some conservative principle left and may even have those who stand true to the Constitutional freedoms of God in Christ Jesus to a once conservative and freedom loving Christian nation, now defunct as the politicaians and the stupid witness.
Makes you wonder: What does this pick say about Obama’s judgment?
Please what? On which social issue is McCain a liberal? In this area he is conservative.
That maybe the rumors are true that everybody else turned him down?

My Kos buddy was dead-on. Credit where credit is due. He told me that Saddleback was hurting more than Dems wanted to admit, and that the two things they really needed were an attack dog, and something to nullify McCain’s great story - which just brought tears to everyone’s eyes at Saddleback.
But I still cannot believe - with all of Joe’s attacks on Barack and all of his many gaffes - that Obama would pick him -— a guy who ALSO has no military experience! Do you realize how MANY sound bites are out there of Biden attacking Obama?!?!?!
No new voters - he’ll probably further alienate Southerners and Catholics, and no new states. Biden isn’t even a do-no-harm pick!
Wow. I am elated at this pick. I think McCain could go with Palin and contrast likability, charisma, and image with the angry, unlikeable, sarcastic, attacking Biden, while laying-out an excuse to some Hillary voters to switch. She actually has more executive experience than Biden - LOL!!
He could go with Romney - to contrast the happy and proud plastic man with the bitter and angry plastic man. Strong contrast. Also, Mitt has more executive experience.
He could go with Pawlenty and contrast the worries of a big mouth with a do-no-harm, quiet pick. No pluses, almost no minuses (except for the big gas tax he put in MN).
McCain has a real lob ball here right in his wheelhouse!!

The McCain Camp’s rapid responses are fast and effective enough to give the ‘92 Clinton “war room” a run for its money.
That’s exactly what I was thinking. The team had this one ready, didn’t they? LOL. An excellent job. It seems they have the “expertise” assembled as a team. Let’s hope they keep it up (I’m sure they will). :-)
Tough to finesse that one but the Obamedia will do it’s damndest trying.
I am sure they had it ready which is what a great campaign is about. Anticipate, adapt, overcome. Preparation, preparation, PREPARATION. Timing, timing, TIMING.
This is just another reason I don’t buy the “McCain is running the Bob Dole redux campaign” argument. They are doing pretty well actually.
I never thought John McCain was running a campaign like Bob Dole, especially because they’re different type people and personalities.
During Bob Dole’s campaign, I went to his rally in the neigboring county and got to shake his hand. He shook my mother-in-law’s hand also. I’ll never forget the sweet look in Bob Dole’s eyes when he he shook my mother-in-law’s hand. It was like he was actually pleased to say hello to her.
Oh, you know what REALLY struck me and stood out in that commercial?
It was when Biden was saying during one of the debates that Obama was not experienced. Did you notice the look on Obama’s face — PRICELESS! Obama had a look that I just can’t seem to describe while he looked up.
