Platitudes Are Great, But I Think We're Looking For A President

Calling Barack Obama's speeches "a run-on string of embarrassing, sophomoric Hallmark bromides," Ann Coulter nailed the central issue of the '08 election all the way back in February. After watching Obama's recent speech in Berlin (I use the word "speech" liberally -- Obama was speaking, but use of that word normally implies the communication of ideas, which this "speech" omitted) this idea came back to me. But while some used to argue that Obama's persistent failure to take a stand on anything would, ultimately, be his downfall, it's become clear that this is really the primary reason for his success.

Luckily, some in the media are taking notice.
