I recently made a post about the many black voters who support Barack Obama just because he's of a similar racial background, lamenting that this was, clearly, a form of racism. One of the commenters (joneskr) noted, correctly, that black voters have consistently supported Democrat candidates in overwhelming numbers and this resulted from the Republican Party's failure to reach out to black voters.
I think it would be more accurate to say that the Republican Party simply refuses to pander, placate, and exploit black voters on the basis of their skin color for the sake of political power, but that's neither here nor there.
The issue remains: are all these black voters flocking to Obama because they support and agree with his policies, find him to be a good man, have studied the content of his character and judged it good?

I am caucasian, but blacks I know are ALL voting for Obama because of his race. They have essentially been told to vote for him by their black pastors. Because they think their pastor has good character, Obama must also be of good character. Besides, he’s gonna “take care” of his own.
