With John Kerry, nothing is ever as effortless as it should be. So whose idea was it to wheel Kerry out for the first pitch of Sunday's Red Sox-Yankees game, in front of ESPN's largest baseball audience in five years? Kerry -- a self-described card-carrying member of Red Sox Nation, who recently referred to Manny Ramirez as Manny Ortiz -- bounced his shot-putt toss, Rick Vaughn-like, meekly into the Fenway Park dirt and received nearly as many boos as he did cheers from the hometown faithful. You have to give it to the guy, he tries. Of course, it won't go down as a Howard Dean-YeeeeeeHAA! moment, but it probably won't win Kerry any votes either.
Ah, I'd heard it fell under Dept of Treasury, so that makes sense. But I was under the impression you had to get the permit from them, which would be like asking San Francisco to issue a concealed carry permit.
as I understand it, sawed off shotguns are illegal in the US without a permit from the US Treasury, which doesn't issue them... making it unlikely anybody will get to carry one.

Good analogy to Amber Frye. No idea who would buy these books, though I admit to peeking to see how she could possibly fill a book (of course I wonder how Greta Van Sustren can fill an hour on the Michael Jackson trial too...). A lot of pictures appears to be the secret.
