AMES, Iowa – Aug. 17, 2011 – The bridge carrying Iowa 9 over the Mississippi River at Lansing in Allamakee County is closed to traffic in both directions, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT). During a regular inspection, the consultant found a crack in the floor beam under the bridge deck. Upon discovery, the bridge was closed immediately.
