Menendez, who was indicted alongside his wife on bribery charges, "deserves our presumption of innocence until proven guilty," Booker said. Sens. Jon Tester, D-Mont., and Bob Casey, D-Pa., on Tuesday pledged to donate the $10,000 they accepted from the political action committee of indicted Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J., who is facing growing calls to resign. Fellow New Jersey Democratic Sen. Cory Booker commented Tuesday on the charges facing Menendez for the first time after remaining silent on the matter following his indictment last week. Menendez, who was indicted alongside his wife on bribery charges, "deserves our presumption of innocence until...

Ok so she finished 3rd. The Hannity hate worked. Her tweet's didn't help. Neither did the infighting amongst the freepers. We have to keep the seat. Lose it and it's gone for 6 years. Trump knows it. Taking a chance on Oz is a deal with the devil-we all know that too. She fought hard and didn't quit like too many republicans do before as well as after elections. She kept it up after losing by 20 points in the house election. In her defense the district appears deep blue and if she fought the good fight in an expected...

Despite Casey’s support, the legislation lacks the 60 votes needed to defeat a Senate filibuster.Sen. Bob Casey, D-Pa., came out Tuesday for a sweeping bill to codify abortion rights protections nationwide, marking a shift from his prior resistance to it. “This week, I will again vote yes to advance debate on the Women’s Health Protection Act and I will support the bill if there is a vote on final passage in the future," he said in a statement. Casey has long held anti-abortion views, with a complicated stance on the government’s role in the issue. He’s the son of Bob...

March 23 (UPI) -- Sen. Bob Casey announced he has contracted COVID-19, becoming the latest U.S. congressman to fall sick to the pandemic. The Democratic senator for Pennsylvania said he tested positive with a breakthrough case on Tuesday afternoon, meaning he is vaccinated against the illness but still became infected with COVID-19. "I am grateful to be asymptomatic but, per [U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention] guidance, I will isolate for five days," he tweeted. "This is reminder that the pandemic is not over. Please get vaccinated and boosted." Casey's admission came hours after former secretary of state and...

Pennsylvania’s experience with private election grants should be evidence enough for lawmakers across the country to regulate their use.Despite widespread allegations of fraud after the 2020 election in Pennsylvania, I feel confident that fraudulent votes did not decide the election’s outcome. On the other hand, I can say with confidence that the election in my home state was not conducted fairly.Through a series of open records requests, Broad + Liberty, a media outlet I helped found, discovered that the Chicago-based Center for Tech and Civic Life (CTCL) targeted counties that vote Democrat with their election grants. Not only that, but...

Senate Democrats voted early Saturday morning to defeat a pro-life amendment that would have stopped the COVID relief bill from using tens of millions and perhaps hundreds of millions of dollars to fund killing babies in abortions. The Senate voted 52-47 to defeat the pro-life amendment offered by Senator James Lankford of Oklahoma to apply the Hyde Amendment to the COVID bill. Every Republican voted for the amendment along with Democrat senators Bob Casey of Pennsylvania and Joe Manchin of West Virginia. Senator Sullivan of Alaska did not vote. The amendment failed because it did not reach the 60-vote threshold...

Party loyalty runs so deep -- and is connected to so many past battles -- voters struggle with an identity crisis when confronted with the reality that the Democratic Party has long left Mass-attending Catholic workers behind. EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA — Religion runs deep in eastern Pennsylvania. Through mountains and valleys, in once-thriving mining and factory towns, Catholic steeples dot low skylines. In smoky pool halls, Monday afternoon drinkers would rather talk about the Knights of Columbus than national politics. Man for man, they’re lifelong Democrats — or once thought so. It’s common for American families to transmit political values from...

Tractor-trailer loads of undelivered letters and parcels were rerouted from the Lehigh Valley’s central post office to a facility in Scranton, postal workers concerned about ongoing efforts to delay the mail told U.S. Sen. Bob Casey. Casey in a statement Tuesday called on Postmaster General Louis DeJoy for answers after he pledged in August to reverse policy changes that caused mail to go undelivered. Casey cited photos provided by postal workers showing dozens of containers loaded with priority mail dating back to at least Sept. 17 that were rerouted from the Lehigh Valley to Scranton.

Since Postmaster General (PMG) Louis DeJoy took the helm of the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) in June, there’s been no shortage of false claims and wild conspiracies being thrown around. Media outlets reported with alarm that sorting machines and mail collection boxes were being removed across the country, only to discover that these removals have been happening for years. And, who could forget the (debunked) theory that PMG DeJoy was killing baby chickens? The latest falsehood – likely intended to rile up seniors before Election Day – is that PMG DeJoy’s policies have been slowing down drug deliveries. Sens. Elizabeth...

Sen. Pat Toomey (R-PA) told Breitbart News in an exclusive interview on Friday that American political leaders are “overstating the danger” of coronavirus to most Americans while “underestimating” the economic “carnage” that lockdowns nationwide are causing. Toomey, a key U.S. senator from a Rust Belt battleground state, conducted this interview with Breitbart News after rolling out a plan to much more quickly reopen Pennsylvania than the plan the state’s Democrat Gov. Tom Wolf has begun. Toomey, a widely respected Republican who serves alongside a Democrat, Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA), is not known for making outlandish claims so his statements here...

Pennsylvania: US Senator Bob Casey and state reps organize events on “Islamophobia” with Hamas-linked CAIR JUN 30, 2019 11:16 AM BY ROBERT SPENCER Would Casey and the state representatives co-organized events with a Nazi group? What’s the difference? CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case — so named by the Justice Department. CAIR officials have repeatedly refused to denounce Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups. Several former CAIR officials have been convicted of various crimes related to jihad terror. CAIR’s cofounder and longtime Board chairman (Omar Ahmad), as well as its chief spokesman (Ibrahim Hooper), have...

Two Democratic legislators introduced the “Disarm Hate Act” this week, which calls for the permanent revocation of 2A rights for any misdemeanor offense deemed to be a hate crime. The bill was brought to both chambers, via Rep. David Cicilline (D-RI) in the House and Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA) in the Senate. Sponsors believe the bill closes the “Hate Crimes Loophole” by banning the sale and possession of firearms for anyone convicted of committing a crime on the basis of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability. “Over and over again we have seen what happens when a...

Barack Obama turned his political attention Friday to Pennsylvania — a state Donald Trump won in 2016. The former president campaigned in Philadelphia with two leading Democrats running for re-election, Gov. Tom Wolf and U.S. Sen. Bob Casey. At a campaign rally at the Dell Music Center in Philadelphia, Obama implored Pennsylvanians to vote in November because the election was more consequential than any he could remember. “This time, it really is different. This time, the stakes really are higher,” Obama said. “The consequences of any of us sitting on the sidelines are far more dangerous.” During the speech Obama...

Rep. Lou Barletta (R-PA) and Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA) are in a dead heat in the Pennsylvania Senate race, according to a poll released on Monday. A Commonwealth Leaders Fund poll found that Sen. Bob Casey leads by only two points, with Casey at 47 percent, Barletta at 45 percent, and 6.1 percent of Pennsylvania voters undecided. The poll had a 3.6-point margin of error, making the Pennsylvania Senate race a virtual toss-up. The poll also weighted heavily for a significant Democrat turnout that outpaces previous “Democratic waves.” The poll suggested that Democrats will have a five-point turnout advantage over...

At this point the so called “polls” are virtually useless. They under poll Republicans and over poll Democrats. They are produced by the same liars who told us Hillary Clinton had a 95% chance of winning. The only ones that have any meaning are the ones that show Republicans leading. This is not a support of the “home team”; but rather a recognition that the polls are just as skewed left now as they were in 2016. Any lead for a Republican is reported only when a poll is forced to report it which really means he/she is leading by...

Thundering that the media is the “fake, fake disgusting news,” President Donald Trump unleashed a torrent of grievances Thursday at a Pennsylvania campaign rally in which he cast journalists as his true political opponent. Trump barnstormed in a state that he swiped from the Democrats in 2016 and that is home to a Senate seat he is trying to place in the Republicans’ column this fall. But the race between GOP U.S. Rep. Lou Barletta and two-term incumbent Democratic Sen. Bob Casey took a back seat to Trump’s invectives against the media, which came amid a backdrop of antagonism to...

President Trump rallied his supporters in Wilkes-Barre Township, Pennsylvania, Thursday night for the second of three "Make America Great Again" rallies in one week. The rally was ostensibly to champion GOP Rep. Lou Barletta, who is running against Democratic incumbent Sen. Bob Casey — but it encompassed many of the president's go-to topics. Mr. Trump called Barletta "dynamo." Barletta, for his part, praised Mr. Trump in a brief but energetic speech. The president dubbed Casey, "Sleeping Bob."
