I don't usually watch MTV reality shows because they always ENRAGE me. A typical MTV reality show features a bunch of self-centered yuppie kids (MTV's target audience) who constantly MUG for the camera. Rather than punch a hole into my TV screen (or pull an Elvis) I have avoided MTV reality shows like the plague. However, I will make an exception for MTV's upcoming "The Paper" which starts broadcasting on April 14. I have already seen a preview VIDEO of this show, and the kids are no less annoying than in previous MTV reality shows. So why the exception?...

The Guardian UK Xinhua China News Headline: Merkel says she will not attend opening of Beijing Olympics Quotes: "The German chancellor, Angela Merkel, yesterday became the first world leader to decide not to attend the Olympics in Beijing." "Donald Tusk, Poland's prime minister, became the first EU head of government to announce a boycott on Thursday and he was promptly joined by President Václav Klaus of the Czech Republic" The disclosure that Germany is to stay away from the games' opening ceremonies in August could encourage President Nicolas Sarkozy of France to join in a gesture of defiance and...
  • More Hollywood Lies: Stop-Loss Hits Theaters, Flops

    03/30/2008 2:27:23 AM PDT · by army2008 · 6 replies · 551+ views
Have you ever heard or seen something that sped up your heartrate and gave you that fight-or-flight adrenaline rush just because it was such a blatant and poisonously lie? It enraged you because even though you knew it was clearly a lie, other people right around you didn't know better and probably ate it up? That's how I felt two months ago when I sat in a Manhattan movie theater packed with left-wing yuppies and the preview for Stop-Loss, which opened this weekend, flickered on the screen. The premise of the movie is this: Army war hero and small-town everyman...
  • "Believing Is Better Than Seeing" (Sermon for the Second Sunday of Easter)

“Believing Is Better Than Seeing” (John 20:19-31; 1 Peter 1:3-9)The disciples were pretty lucky, weren’t they? I mean, getting to see Jesus in the flesh, to travel around with him, to see him perform his miracles, to actually see him risen from the dead, to see him with their own eyes. What could be better than that? No wonder they had such a strong faith! Too bad we can’t have that kind of faith in our day. Just look at the advantage they had! Easter day, that evening, Jesus himself comes to them, shows them his hands and his side....

Charges were dropped against LCpl. Stephen Tatum on Friday, leaving Lt. Col. Jeffrey Chessani, Sgt. Frank Wuterich and Cpl. Andrew Grayson as the remaining three Marines who haven’t had their cases resolved. Eventually, John Murtha will be exposed as a corrupt man who used the Haditha Marines in his attempt to become the House Majority Leader.

United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon expressed his fear that the posting to the Internet of Dutch politician Geert Wilders’ “Fitna”—a film linking Islamist violence with passages from the Koran—would “incite retribution.” Ban said that “while freedom of speech sounds good in theory, its advocates are overlooking the risks. The Koran bids Muslims to spare unbelievers who submit and pay the jizya. But does Wilders acknowledge this option for peaceful coexistence with Islam? No. He one-sidedly focuses on the consequences to those who stubbornly reject this offer.” “We must recognize that the real fault lies not with the Muslims, but...

Please allow me to start off by proudly stating that this latest article was written on an energy-consuming computer under the illumination of a regular, non-environmentally friendly filament light bulb, with the television playing in the background down the double-lit hallway as the washer and dryer go through their water and power chugging cycles in the basement. It’s the start of the latest Internet-inspired, burned-out old hippy-fueled, enviroNazi public relations stunt. It is one minute into Earth Hour, and I just turned on the porch light in celebration.....

When a legal self-help book is promoted as coming from God's legal department, you can't ask for a higher authority. That's the pitch for the new book from "Christian lawyer" Stephen L. Bloom, The Believer's Guide to Legal Issues, due out April 1. "I've seen people, including Christian believers, getting caught up in very painful legal nightmares, damaging their relationships, making themselves miserable, all by following traditional secular legal advice and values," Bloom says. "So I've written this book to empower people to rise above the mindset of greed and revenge so prevalent in the law, to draw them...

Obama's Sunday 2 24 08 speech to ~100 members of the Jewish Community in Cleveland ...It will serve as the BASIS for successful resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which is at the basis of the 'Neocon Wars for Israel' that BushCheney and the Israel Lobby have been having us fight. Obama has split the Likud/Neocon war criminals from Jews of Conscience everywhere and broken down the walls for ME Peace. Thank you, Barack, and Samantha - YAHOO!!! ...This is it - this is what we need - these are the conceptual underpinnings for the end of the 'war on terror'...

RFFM.org Commentary Most of us who fall within the category of baby boomers can explain why small government and low taxation served our nation very well. At least we should be able to. A little more than a quarter century ago, the norm included one parent who brought home an income which supported an entire family. Of course, government programs, including the GI Bill, made it possible for millions of families to join the middle class after World War II. But, all the same, jobs in manufacturing were sufficient to bring reality to the well-turned phrase, "a rising tide lifts...

The Democratic Party is heading for a massive train wreck during its summer convention, and this is to the partyÂ’s long term benefit. Although there is no way the Democrats can win the 2008 Presidential contest at this point, they will also have a chance to rid themselves of the cancer that has infested their party for the past decade. We mean the extreme Left that is totally outside the mainstream of American values and ideals, and Barack Obama personifies the disease. The DemocratsÂ’ problem is that Obama developed a significant but not decisive lead in pledged delegates before his...

Now that you mention it, I can see the similarities. The brittle, bottle-blonde hairstyles, steely personalities and the ability to inspire both deep antipathy and ardent affection in their respective populaces. So perhaps the news that Hillary Clinton and Camilla Parker-Bowles also share a common ancestor should come as no great shock. The Democratic candidate and the wife of the heir to the British throne are ninth cousins once removed, according to a newly-released study by the New England Historic Genealogical Society. The pair are both descended from Jean Guyon and Elisabeth Couillard who lived in Quebec back when it...

Once again, the ‘man-caused’ global warming advocates are over blowing an insignificant event. A shelf of ice from the Antarctic has broken off, (an event that is totally natural by the way) and the Al Gore wannabees are crying bloody murder. The newspapers printed large page long articles about the event and completely ignored the evidence which shows that most of the Antarctic has been cooling and making record ice since the 1970’s. I’m surprised the news paper columnists were even able to type their articles- their hands must have been shaking quite badly when they received the earth shattering...

Shanghai Daily reported this today. “THE monks who disrupted the tour of overseas reporters on Thursday are not to be punished, said a top Tibetan official. "What they said is not true. They were attempting to mislead the world's opinion," said Baema Chilain, vice chairman of the regional government at a press conference on Thursday evening in Lhasa, capital of Tibet Autonomous Region. "The facts shouldn't be distorted."” So the only distorted facts that can come out of Tibet are the distorted facts coming from the Chinese government. Notice how we are not told what the Monks actually said. Just...
