Washington — Senate Republicans on Wednesday blocked an effort aimed at preventing continued U.S. strikes on alleged drug-carrying boats off the coast of Venezuela.

Democrats forced a vote on the issue under the War Powers Act. In a 48-51 vote, the effort failed to garner enough support to move forward.

The resolution, led by Sens. Adam Schiff of California and Tim Kaine of Virginia, would have blocked the U.S. military from engaging in hostilities with "any non-state organization engaged in the promotion, trafficking, and distribution of illegal drugs and other related activities" without congressional authorization. ...

Rats own the drug cartels. Where do you think their money comes from?

As usual, the democrat party members (led by watermelon head Adam Schiff) want to protect criminal drug cartels that are bringing in tons of fentanyl, enough to kill millions.

The Rat party truly is an evil terrorist organization. /spit

“The Constitution does not allow the president to unilaterally blow up suspected drug smugglers” — Rand Paul, getting it completely wrong — again.

Adam Schiff and the others PROFITED from
the 800 pounds of fentanyl REMOVED in Boston.

He and the others do NOT act for this Republic.

Rand Paul was the only Republican to vote with the Democrats on this.

Joint resolution to direct the removal of United States Armed Forces from hostilities that have not been authorized by Congress, defeated 51-48 despite Rand Paul voting yea

Once again the Demonrats side with illegals and criminals instead of the best interests of the legal citizens of the United States of America. You’d think with positions like this that they take, they’d never win another election, but here we are with half the country brainwashed by these evil people.

Trump did well designating ANTIFA as a domestic terrorist group. The current Democrat Party is the same.

It might be possible to construct a reasonable, principled argument that Trump either doesn’t have the power to do what he’s doing, or that what he is doing isn’t being done properly or perhaps legally. However, Obama probably set the record on extra judicial killings, including US citizens, using drone strikes and nobody in Congress tried to construct that argument. I’d say that horse left the barn in 2008. The other puzzling issue is optics. It’s astonishing that the Democrats regularly slip their entire electoral body into a pile of stinking $hip without hesitation and with no regard as to how it appears to the wider public. I look on in wide-eyed amazement and wonder just who they are trying to appeal to. Not anyone in the public who I know.

Disappointing, but not surprising.

What was a pleasant surprise was Pennsylvania’s Democrat Senator John Fetterman. He voted with the Republicans.

Or maybe than wasn’t such a surprise. Fetterman has been showing a lot of common sense since he took office.

At some point the drug boats will carry hostages and kids as human shields. Please be careful.

Where is RandFan to tell us how Rand Paul is being “principled “ with this vote for the drug runners?

Fetterman has been showing TOO MUCH “common sense” lately.

It’s as if, since his stroke and hospitalization/treatment for depression he’s more in his RIGHT MIND than ever.

I know - strongly suspect anyway - why he’s not joining the GOP full-time, but the DNC is going to primary him anyway.

They are certainly evil enough to do that. I don’t know how true it is, but I’ve read that some drug boat crew members are there involuntarily. The cartels hold the crew member families hostage to ensure that the crew members do their jobs.

It’s gut-wrenching, but I don’t think any of that makes a difference. The damage the drugs do far outweighs such considerations.

A rough analogy would be if the Nazis had put hostages on their U-boats. The U-boats still would have to be hunted down and destroyed.

I have mentioned this elsewhere.

Fetterman was once a typical “progressive” Democrat mayor. I don’t think it was the stroke that changed him (much). Fetterman was horrified by the brutal and vile October 7, 2023 Hamas attack on Israel.

That woke him up to the evils in this world.

Aside from USAID the entire funding for the left must come from drug money.

110,000 gang members in Chicago with gangs controlling various parts of rhe city.

Follow the money.

Who is on the take?

Track all the money. Arrest all involved.

Perp walk rhe mayor of a major city and more will flip to cut deals.

So he’s chosen to actually stand FOR something than to fall for every leftist lie.

He likely sees this as a way to protect the rights of junkies to receive their supply, at reasonable prices.
