A Florida man has lost one of his eyes after being busted by a K9 following a traffic stop, police said. The 30-year-old man, identified as Terrell Bradley, said the Gainesville Police K9 also chewed up his finger after he was apprehended following a traffic stop. The Washington state Supreme Court on Thursday ruled that a person’s race, and law enforcement’s long history of discrimination against people of color, should be taken into account when determining the legality of police seizures. Connecticut’s Office of Inspector General announced on Wednesday that a white state trooper was charged with manslaughter after he fatally shot a 19-year-old Black man after a car chase in 2020. After an “extended pursuit” on Jan. 15, 2020, the trooper, Brian North, stopped a stolen vehicle and fatally shot Mubarak Soulemane seven times through the car window. A court ordered the release of Jussie Smollett from jail on bond as the appeal of his conviction is pending. Smollett was recently sentenced to 150 days in jail after being convicted of lying to Chicago police about being the victim of a hate crime back in 2019.
