You may have heard about the big primary election happening down here: we've got a good shot at replacing Senator Blanche Lincoln—who recently ran an ad saying she doesn't answer to the Democratic Party and who helped kill the public option—with a far better candidate named Bill Halter. Here is video of an ad against Democrat Senate Candidate Bill Halter being run in Arkansas by Americans for Job Security. The ad actually features actors that appear to be from India saying "thank you, Bill Halter" for outsourcing jobs to India. Halter's opponent, incumbent Democrat Sen. Blanche Lincoln, has denounced the ad.

By most accounts, the two most vulnerable senators up for re-election this year are Democrats Harry Reid of Nevada and Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas. The problems for Reid have been well chronicled. LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Arkansas Lt. Gov. Bill Halter said Monday he's seeking the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate seat held by Sen. Blanche Lincoln, challenging the two-term incumbent as she faces the toughest fight of her political career. Halter's spokesman provided a statement Monday in which the one-term lieutenant governor said he would file papers this week for the U.S. Senate. Halter is the only Democrat to formally announce a challenge to Lincoln, a moderate who has been under pressure in Washington to support President Barack Obama's health care overhaul.

LITTLE ROCK - Arkansas Lt. Gov. Bill Halter issued a statement Saturday endorsing Barack Obama for the Democratic presidential nomination, but the political endorsement was e-mailed from a government computer at his state office. Arkansas law prohibits the use of government resources for political purposes. When asked about the e-mail, Halter spokesman Garry Hoffmann said it was his idea and his mistake.
