A very large and powerful storm system will move into the Great Plains, producing a severe weather outbreak this afternoon. Supercell thunderstorms will likely develop in Nebraska/Kansas during the mid afternoon hours and move east during the evening hours. Severe thunderstorms will also initiate from southwestern Missouri to northeastern Texas by early evening. These storms will be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail, and numerous tornadoes.
