A New Jersey township is seeking to dismiss a federal lawsuit accusing it of creating bogus barriers for years before ultimately rejecting a group’s plan to build a mosque. The Islamic Society of Basking Ridge filed the complaint last month, seeking permission to build the mosque. Its application to build the mosque was denied in December after four years and 39 public hearings. It is the talk of the neighborhood. Police say a 44-year-old woman killed her 12-year-old son, and then tried unsuccessfully to take her own life. On Friday night, the woman's husband came home from work and found a suicide note in the bedroom of their Basking Ridge home. He immediately called police who found the woman and her son in the basement. Twelve-year-old Jack Kimzey was on the floor dead.
