More details about Rosie O'Donnell and Whoopi Goldberg's feud on "The View" have been unveiled. Ramin Setoodeh, author of "Ladies Who Punch: The Explosive Inside Story of 'The View'" described a power clash between the two panelists as the root of their beef. “I don’t think she liked to be challenged,” Setoodeh told Jenny McCarthy of Goldberg. “I think she had the most problems with Rosie O’Donnell because Rosie wanted to challenge her and wanted to change the show. Rosie felt like Whoopi was kind of checked out.”

If you are a woman and are speaking when a man butts in, you have not been interrupted. Instead, according to Time, you have been “manterrupted” because men disproportionately interrupt females and women rarely interrupt males. According to an article published this week, titled “How Not to Be ‘Manterrupted’ In Meetings” and written by Jessica Bennett, there is an epidemic of sexism in which men do not respect the opinions of women. Bennett’s first example is the infamous VMA award ceremony in which Kanye West interrupted Taylor Swift. Yet this was not an aberration, according to Bennett, who sees it...

They might as well change its name from “The View” to “The Feud.” A shrill, backstage brawl at “The View” Wednesday left co-host Rosie Perez in tears while panelists Whoopi Goldberg and Rosie O’Donnell battled over how to cover the latest allegations against Bill Cosby and the racially charged upheaval in Ferguson, Mo., sources said. O’Donnell believed the show — now overseen by ABC News — needed to delve deeper into both controversial subjects, while Goldberg wanted to steer clear of the topics altogether.

A former writer for TMZ filed a lawsuit Friday against the company for sexual discrimination, harassment, retaliation and wrongful termination. The suit stated that Catherine “Taryn” Hillin, who was employed by TMZ as a producer for approximately a year-and-a-half from Feb. 2012 to Sept. 2014, was the only female writer on the celebrity news website's staff. Hillin alleges that she was quickly advised that TMZ was a “boys club” favoring male employees over female employees, with one employee telling her, “Good luck being a girl writer.” The suit goes on to cite specific examples of discriminatory comments by executive producer...

Sheryl Sandberg, author of Lean In and Chief Operating Officer of Facebook, has a line in her book that states "I want every little girl who's told she's bossy to be told instead that she has leadership skills." As you have probably heard by now, her Lean In organization and the Girl Scouts of America have teamed up with various celebrities and some other well-known female figures to urge us to ban the use of the word bossy. As part of their "public service" campaign they have released a short ad featuring these women lecturing us about how they were...

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told an audience in New York that the news media has a “double standard” against women in powerful position, and offered advice to younger women on how to overcome it. “There is a double standard,” Clinton said, according to Politico. “We have all experienced it.” Clinton was speaking on a panel at the “Women in the World” conference in New York Thursday, along with International Monetary Fund chief Christine Lagarde and moderated by New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman. “The double standard is alive and well, and I think in many respects the media...

Nobody should ever suggest that leadership and assertiveness are mutually exclusive; all sensible people must agree that in order to lead, someone must give directions, and when the time comes for it, that those directions must be given strongly. A great leader, like Germanicus Caesar, knows that at certain times even mutinous soldiers must be courted, and that at others they must be executed, and that only wisdom can discern which is more appropriate. But I would never agree with Cheryl Sandberg that we should teach all bossy little girls not that they’re bossy, but that they’re natural leaders. I’ve...

First Lady Michelle Obama is not content nagging Americans about their food choices. She has now decided to lecture us about our word usage. Along with pop star Beyonce and actress Jennifer Garner among others, the First Lady is urging Americans to ban the word “bossy.” She believes that use of the word somehow inhibits young girls from becoming leaders. This whole effort is typical of liberal campaigns to lecture Americans about everything from their diet to their healthcare choices. Far too many of these liberals believe they know what is best and need to offer such guidance for the...

A bunch of aggrieved women led by Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg launched a high-profile "public service campaign" this week to "ban" the word "bossy." Sandberg, Beyonce, Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham and first lady Michelle Obama have joined femme forces to combat this phantom menace. In their rarefied world, it's a "very negative experience" and a crippling act of gender discrimination to be called bossy. "This isn't a word we should use," Sandberg complained on National Public Radio. To which I say: Oh, buck up. The key to female empowerment doesn't lie with wheedling word police. It lies with girls and...
