A sport utility vehicle is believed to have started a fire at a southeast Houston apartment complex Wednesday, fire investigators told Local 2. Investigators believe the fire started at about 1 a.m. in a Suzuki SUV parked under a carport at a complex on Broadway Street and Moline Street. The fire destroyed the SUV, and two apartment units suffered minor damage. No injuries were reported.

A Columbus man died Friday after his SUV went out of control on Interstate 185, police said. Adrian Lamar Williams, 30, of 217 Goat Rock Road, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 5:21 p.m. accident near Hubbard Road. Williams was traveling south on I-185 when he attempted to change lanes. The 2000 Mitsubishi Montero he was driving went out of control and overturned several times, police said in a report. Police have a man in custody after two firebombings Wednesday at the Vancouver Law Courts. The downtown block around the courthouse and government office complex was cordoned off by police after a man threw a Molotov cocktail at a window, setting a bush on fire. The building was evacuated after a second fire was discovered in the underground parkade. Police said witnesses saw the man making his escape in a black SUV. State attorneys general announced a $27 million ad campaign today designed to coax SUV owners to drive safely by challenging them to "master" the vehicles. A crash tied up the start of rush-hour traffic Tuesday night. Around 3:30 p.m., an SUV rolled over on the 390/590 split in Henrietta. Police had to shut down the 390 south ramp for more than an hour, while cleaning up and investigating the crash. The driver of the SUV was taken to Strong Hospital, but the injuries don't appear serious. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

One person is dead after an SUV fleeing from state troopers headed the wrong way across the Howard Frankland Bridge and crashed into oncoming traffic early this morning.
