Despite a low-risk pandemic situation in the area, the Guangzhou Vocational University of Science and Technology, in southern China’s Guangdong province, prolonged its COVID-19 restrictions on campus. Discontent from locked-up students simmered until it reached a critical point. At noon on Mar. 17, at least 300 Guangzhou university students launched a surprise charge on the guarded school gate and stormed off campus. Student Lin Fang (alias), told the Chinese-language Epoch Times it looked like a prison escape scene from a movie. “It happened during break time. As guards were allowing a vehicle to exit, the crowds saw an opportunity and...

Donald Trump's outreach to Christians is bearing fruit, if results of the NBC News/Survey Monkey weekly online tracking poll out Tuesday are any indication. Among white evangelical Republican voters nationally, Trump earned the support of 37 percent, while Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, whose father is a pastor and has played a key role in recruiting faith leaders to support his son, is at 20 percent. In the same survey conducted the previous week, Cruz registered 9 percentage points higher. Below the top two contenders, Ben Carson earned 11 percent among evangelicals, and Marco Rubio took 10 percent. The Manhattan business...

Now with family and friends in canada...last night at LAX we went to the idiotic, commie routine of putting our hands on our heads and posed for the x-ray like the rest of the sheep. TSA nazis were in the same mood: yelled at everyone especially to take out ALL ELECTRONICS, place them in the bin etc. There was a very noticeable line of people that AFTER the x-ray, they were still pulled to the side and had to take out every stuff they had in their bags of course, especially the women who had to embarrassingly take out their...

TUKWILA, Wash. — The Southcenter Mall in Tukwila was locked down Saturday night as police went store to store in an effort to find a young man who shot two other young men, one of them fatally, inside the mall. Police spokesman Mike Murphy, an officer, told The Associated Press there were "thousands" of shoppers at the mall when the shooting took place just before 3:45 p.m. The shooting victims were taken to Seattle's Harborview Medical Center, where one of them died. Murphy said he did not know the condition of the other victim.

SAUSALITO, Calif. - A local woman's "missile art" has bombed so badly with an exhibit manager that she has reluctantly agreed to remove the work. Artist Dixie Brown of Kentfield agreed to removed her nine realistic-looking "missiles" made of gray and black lamb's wool from the Fiber Dimension exhibit at Sausalito's Bay Model facility, which is operated by the Army Corps of Engineers. Other exhibits also depict war images, but Brown's are particularly striking because they hang from the ceiling. Facility manager Chris Gallagher asked Brown to take the woolen missiles away before an officer's retirement party next week. "They...

WINNIPEG (CP) -- Manitoba drivers suspected of being high on drugs will be asked to perform a specific series of tasks, including standing on one leg while counting out loud, under new regulations approved by the NDP government. "The tests are, by nature, divided attention tests," David Greening, a senior Justice Department policy analyst, said in an interview. "(Police) can determine if a person is impaired by how they perform on the tests." The new regulations stem from amendments to the provincial Highway Traffic Act approved by the legislature last spring which are intended to crack down on motorists who...
