Okay, this is an intriguing new frontier in political media criticism. Media Matters, which has been attacking CNN for not reining in Lou Dobbs’ birther obsession, has now purchased air time to run a TV ad attacking “CNN’s Lou Dobbs problem” — during Dobbs’ show! A Media Matters spokesman tells me the group has bought a week of ad time on CNN, MSNBC and Fox News in D.C., New York, and Atlanta, beginning Tuesday. The catch: Media Matters has specifically purchased time to air the ad during Dobbs’ show — putting CNN in the position of either running the spot...

http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3179840 As some of you may have noticed, recently the Republican Party has begun cracking down on the "birthers", realizing that openly supporting the most crazy members of your party is, well, problematic for appealing to non-crazy people. This, of course, leads to even more crazy, as they turn on their leaders for hiding the "truth". It's a drat shame to let all this crazy go to waste, when properly cultivated and raised it could be so much more. So welcome to the first FreeRepublic Infiltration Contest! We're going to infiltrate freerepublic as agents provocateur. This can take several forms;...

Why the Founding Fathers Were “Birthers” By JB Williams Saturday, August 1, 2009 The label of “birther” is fast becoming a noble badge of honor for millions of Americans who are not willing to let their Constitution die without a good ole patriot’s fight! The leftist Obama propaganda press would love for you to believe that “birthers” are just a bunch of “crazy racists” that number in the hundreds, and that they have NO basis to demand proof of whom and what Barack Hussein Obama really is… But the “birthers” actually number in the millions and the basis for their...

Barack Obama's birthday is Aug. 4, and I hereby urge the president to bestow a party favor on the nation that elected him: a verifying look at the original "long-form" version of his birth certificate. It's important to grasp the weird fact that this simple request, requiring nothing more than a nod of the presidential head, ranks as fightin' words to American journalists. Right wing, left wing, these ladies and gentlemen of the Fourth Estate seem to want nothing less than to gain access to the one piece of evidence that could lay the "natural born" issue to rest once...

Who is Eligible to Apply for an Amended Certificate of Birth? As provided by law (HRS §§338-17.7, 338-20.5), the following persons may apply for an amended certificate of birth: A person born in the State of Hawaii who already has a birth certificate filed with the Department of Health and has become legally adopted, or has undergone a sex change operation, or a legal determination of the nonexistence of a parent and child relationship for a person identified as a parent on the birth certificate on file has been made, or previously recorded information in relation to the person’s surname...

Do you believe Obama is hiding or lying about something regarding his origins? Please elaborate.

An Internet controversy that raged during the presidential campaign has resurfaced in recent weeks, posing more of a threat to Republicans than the intended target, President Barack Obama. The "birther" movement, as it's called, claims that Obama was not born in Hawaii, but Kenya or Indonesia and therefore is not eligible to be president. The birth certificate that has been released and authenticated by numerous Hawaii state officials is a fraud, they say, and isn't the original anyway. But after months in relative obscurity, the birthers have muscled their way onto the national stage: • 11 Republican legislators have endorsed...

In a recent telephone poll conducted by Research 2000 for the website Daily Kos, 58 percent of Republican respondents when asked if Barack Obama was born in the USA answered "no" or "not sure." The Daily Kos, which calls itself "the largest progressive community blog in the United States," nonetheless found a reported 527 Republicans and 601 independents to accompany its 743 Democrats in answering the question. Among Republicans, 28 percent answered they believe Obama was born outside the U.S., while 30 percent answered "not sure." Among independents, 83 percent affirmed their belief that the president was born in the...

(snip) Dr. Orly obtained Obama's mother's Social Security #. 3 addresses in Hawaii and one in New York. The # is alive, well and actively being used today. Kelly Anne Dunham and Anna Sotoero are using this #. Question: Fraud (stolen #'s) or is she really dead? or is a relative using the number? MAYBE THE ILLEGAL ALIEN AUNT IS USING IT?!?!?! No hospital in Hawaii has records of Stanley being treated for her cancer. Where was she treated? Washington State? Only Memorial services for both the grandmother and mom - both cremated - why? Zero formal funerals. - why?...

On Bill O'Reilly's FOX News show, O'Reilly reassured his viewers that there is nothing to the Obama birth certificate controversy, that it is bogus, and so forth. He said, ".....The Factor investigated. Found out that it's bogus.....and again, we found that President Obama was born in Hawaii. We sent (for) the documents....." Later in the same show, O'Reilly repeated this assurance after a segment with Ann Coulter: ".....As we mentioned, The Factor debunked the whole Birth Certificate deal more than a year ago. It was easy. The State of Hawaii sent us a copy of the document. End of story."...

As time goes on, I'm starting to adopt this position myself. The only thing weirder than the Birthers are the anti-Birthers, who blame the Birthers for being conspiracy theorists yet actively feed the conspiracy by refusing to call for President Obama to release his birth certificate. The state official in Hawaii who manages such things has reiterated that there is indeed an original birth certificate on file which would confirm President Obama's having been born in Hawaii and that she has seen it, but state law won't allow her to release it unless the president authorizes it.So what's...

The whole birth certificate issue gets weirder still: "I, Dr. Chiyome Fukino, director of the Hawaii State Department of Health, have seen the original vital records maintained on file by the Hawaii State Department of Health verifying Barack Hussein Obama was born in Hawaii and is a natural-born American citizen. I have nothing further to add to this statement or my original statement issued in October 2008 over eight months ago...." But why are we supposed to rely on the testimony of Dr Fukino, whom I believe entirely. It is not my job as a journalist or yours as a...

The Constitution specifies that in addition to being "natural born," the president must be 35 years old and with a minimum 14-year residency in the country. The same applies to the vice president. Nickles's legislation, inspired by an aide who adopted two children from Eastern Europe, does not address immigrants' right to hold America's highest office. But his colleague Orrin Hatch, Republican of Utah, who chairs the Senate Judiciary Committee, last year introduced a constitutional amendment to loosen the prohibition on foreign-born citizens serving as president. The Constitution's framers chose the term "natural born" not only to highlight the need...

The Obama "long form" birth certificate has been in question for a long time. A large movement is asking for his official birth record (see reasons below). Likewise, another movement is growing -- saying that the first group is nuts and is wasting everyone's time. Lawsuits are continually being filed for proof of President Obama's eligibility. The latest from someone in the military. The "Vault or Long Form" certificate has been wrongly interchanged with the "Certificate of Live Birth" as proof of birth although they are two different documents. Although I do not subscribe to either side of the debate,...

As many already know, Mr. Andy Martin has had "less than user-friendly" cooperation from the State of HI regarding the requests he intended to file via the Uniform Information Practices Act. He claims he requested UIPA information via mail service and received a packet, but "no forms" ! Recently, requests were made to the Hawaiian Department Of Health by U.S. citizens requesting information that the UIPA Laws within the State of Hawaii unequivocally support the release of, regardless of the party to whom the information pertains. I personally do not expect the DOH to provide any of these people the...

This is in response to Mr. Cazalet’s and other letters over the past week. The man on the Cable News told me today that if I dare voice any opposition to any of President Obama’s policies or suggested laws, that I was a “Racist.” Other’s stated that I am harming our country if I speak out in opposition to any of President Obama’s programs. They tell me that I should go along with the “Change” and not form or express any Opinions that may differ from his. They are telling me that the present Administration is our only hope to...
