This is in response to Mr. Cazalet’s and other letters over the past week.
The man on the Cable News told me today that if I dare voice any opposition to any of President Obama’s policies or suggested laws, that I was a “Racist.”
Other’s stated that I am harming our country if I speak out in opposition to any of President Obama’s programs. They tell me that I should go along with the “Change” and not form or express any Opinions that may differ from his.
They are telling me that the present Administration is our only hope to salvage our country and they should not be doubted..
They tell me that in order to be a “Good American” I really don’t have the Right to form my own opinions, or the Right to express them. They are telling me that my Constitutional Right to “Freedom of Speech” is being openly attacked.
After seeing the recent “Change” in the direction our Government is headed, I see a definite trend towards any opposition to that “Progressive Change,” in the area of our “Constitutional Right to Freedom of Speech.”
Those who have taken power, the Liberal Far Left Extremists, who refer to themselves as “Enlightened or Progressive,” now for some reason feel that they are much wiser than the rest of us. They feel that if left alone to lead our own lives and think for ourselves, we the unwashed masses are not capable of making the right decisions. These people believe that we are not capable of forming our own opinions, ideas and thoughts and as such should not have the Freedom to express those opinions, ideas, and thoughts.
These people have always demanded their Constitutional Right to Freedom of Speech and it has always been afforded to them. By their definition the acts of burning our Nation’s Flag, profane demonstrations at Soldier’s funerals, shouting obscenities to disrupt political rallies, ETC., are protected forms of “Freedom of Speech.” Now suddenly they want to deprive others of their Right. Suddenly their demand for “Freedom of Speech” only applies if it agrees with theirs.
We even see Obama’s Staffers working on Legislation to ban what they define as “Right Wing Radio Talk Shows.”
They believe that those disagreeing with them, at any level, are harming Society and should be silenced.
If anyone’s ideas, opinions or thoughts disagree with theirs; they are arbitrarily looked down upon, ridiculed, and actively attacked.
These groups fall into the Far Left of the political spectrum. They claim to represent those in our Society “without a voice.” They claim to want to ensure “Equality of Human Rights and ” to ensure a “level playing field” for everyone.” However, they demand that their definitions of who those people to be helped are, be theirs alone.
They will quickly tell us that their Opinions are much more sound, intelligent, insightful and superior to ours, and they will actually believe that.
One other thing they all have in common is an underlying contempt for Traditional Democracy, Patriotism, our Free Enterprise system, basic Moral Values, the concept of “Family,” Traditions, prevailing main stream Religious Values and a support of Socialism, Much more now than at any other time.
I believe that is one of their main agendas in wanting to silence the opinions of others.
We are all individuals. We all live our lives based on our life Experiences, Economic Status, Education Level, Religious Values, Family Values, our own Personal Sense of Values and Morals, and the character traits we developed as a result. We all have differing opinions on different subjects. We all have the right, or should have; to live our lives as “Free Thinking” individuals, as long as our actions are legal, moral, and non-perverse and contribute to society as a whole. We should have the absolute right, within the guidelines of our Constitution and Laws, to live our lives, as we see fit, as long as it‘s not harmful to others. This should apply most importantly in the area of forming our own Opinions, Thoughts and Ideas, and the Right to freely express them.
Why should these advocates of “Progressive Change fear us having that Right?
Why do they openly try to deny us the very same Rights they have always demanded?
To me the most important of our Freedoms is “Free Will. “I should have the Freedom and Right to think and form Opinions and be able to express my Opinions on any subject I may encounter in my life. I don’t need or want the “Politically Correct Thought Police” telling me how I should think, feel or how/when to express my opinion.
On any given subject, I may disagree with others and they may disagree with me. That doesn’t mean that I’m always correct, or that they are. That just means that we differ. Is that not what “Diversity, Tolerance and Equality are really about? Is not the ability to disagree with our President and Government, and publically express that disagreement, one of the basic frameworks of our System of Democracy?
My heart and mind are challenged by opinions with which I disagree. I either strengthen my own position by rejecting them, or am forced to recognize that I am wrong. Either way, I will be forced to deal with an important issue that I may not have otherwise encountered.
As an American Citizen I will always take it upon myself to ensure that my opinion on any subject is based upon Objectivity, research, and an understanding of all aspects of the subject. I will strive to ensure that my opinion is an “Informed Opinion.” I will not just parrot back the words, thoughts, ideas, or opinions of someone else.
Bit if someone’s opinion is just that “An Opinion,” not an “Informed Opinion,” I will still be respectful of their stated opinion, and their Right to express it.
In letters published the last week I noted the word “Ridiculous” used to define some opinions that were expressed.
I listened to and read daily opinions of President Bush’s policies and programs. I was told, based on the opinions of others, that he invaded Iraq for ; their oil, to make his father proud of him, to make Chaney’s friends rich, lied to the American Public, and my personal favorite, (from right here in Somerset) to get American Troops killed so that we would not have to pay them Social Security in the future.
To me, personally, and to many others, those are “Ridiculous and Uninformed Opinions.” However, even though we felt that way, we never once suggested that those believing those opinions should not have the Right to express them.
I fear this “Silencing of the opposition” trend will continue.
One of the opinions mentioned as being “Ridiculous” was that Obama is not a legal citizen. My personal opinion is that he is a legal citizen. I believe that over the years while we paying his way thru Ivy League Colleges, via back door Affirmative Action, Quota Systems and Diversity Programs, that his background, place of birth, etc, were used creatively to make sure he qualified for the aforementioned programs.
In any case , why doesn’t he just release the documents and records pertaining to his birth place and let a Court rule that he is a legal citizen ? What does he fear?
Has everyone read the report from the committee that determined McLame was eligible? There were 5 RATS and 1 Republican and Chertoff who all agreed on the definition of “natural born citizen” meaning born on US soil to US citizen parents (the plural as in both mom and dad). Obama has said many times and wrote in Dreams he is the son of O Sr., a Kenyan. The COLB shows his father to be O. Sr., an African. Bottom line, he is not a “natural born citizen” by his own definition from the committe so he is not eligible.

No, I didn’t see it today. As for the Obama files. If this guy needed money; he should have plainly asked for it. Just a button on his site would not do. Tell the public why he needed to money instead of putting all that work in and telling us we are the failure. I never even saw the button.

Anchor babies are not natural born citizens. At most they would be native born but there was something a while back saying they might not have been that either since their parents were not lawfully here. This is the thing, too many in the msm are spouting off citizen this and citizen that but never bothering to do any real investigation of the term. It’s like they never heard of googling and can only cut and paste untruths. It’s just shoddy lazy reporting.

You said this was all thought out long before BHO became POTUS. Emmanuel and Axelrod as participants would be a given; who else would be involved, do you think in developing such a plan ?

Obama’s a chicken, plain and simple. His cowardice has been as plain as day: outsourcing the stimulus package to the House, refusing to apologize for his “stupidly” remark, letting Congress tie itself in knots over health care reform by refusing to take a position on issue after issue. He thinks it’s “bold” to articulate both sides in a dispute (Palestinians vs. Israel, for example) and demand that both sides come to agreement even as he himself refuses to say what position is a reasonable one.
Obama’s not “The One”: he’s The Weenie! The public has begun to figure this out and his approval ratings are falling in direct proportion to the decline in respect for him among average Americans.
