Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio finds himself under increasing attack as he prepares to release new findings in his investigation of President Obama’s eligibility for the state’s 2012 election ballot. “I have no intention of resigning,” said Arpaio, who is running for his sixth term as sheriff of Maricopa County. “They forget I have a four-decades long career in federal law enforcement that includes having been a special agent for the FBI and having worked for the Drug Enforcement Agency in the United States, as well as in Argentina, Turkey and Mexico.”

A number of Pima County candidates may be effected by a federal judge who appears ready to rule against a key provision of Arizona's system of funding elections.

State Capitol – Senate Democrats defeated Senate Bill 1403 by a 10-15 vote today. Senate Bill 1403 prohibits school district expenditures on campaign literature associated with school officials and allows the State Superintendent to withhold a school district’s state aids if the school district violates this act.
