A Russian researcher, delving anew into once-secret Soviet files from the Cold War, says she has found no evidence that Alger Hiss spied or that Soviet intelligence had any particular interest in him. In a speech to be delivered at a New York University symposium Thursday, Svetlana A. Chervonnaya says neither Hiss' name nor his alleged spy moniker, Ales, appears in any of dozens of documents from Soviet archives that she has reviewed since the early 1990s. Ever since 9/11, I have been impressed with Rep Rob Andrews (D-NJ) He does not seem to get involved in the partisan mudslinging and as far as I can tell, puts National Security before politics. He seems to be one of the few dems I can respect. However, cynic that I am, I know looks can be deceiving, so I am asking you. Is my respect misplaced or is he the real deal? Thanks in advance.
