There is a serious flaw in the song Don't Take the Girl. The first verse starts off as a 8 year old boy complaining to dad to not to take the girl fishing. Ten years later he's an 18 year old getting robbed and says

Take my money, take my wallet Take my credit cards Here's the watch that my grandpa gave me Here's the key to my car Mister, give it a whirl But, please, don't take the girl

Who believes he had a credit cards? That line always annoyed me.

He believes in “common sense” gun conrol. So unless he’s not carrying due to “common sense” gun conttrol, he can say goodbye to the girl too.

The article is about “Indian Outlaw”, a song on a much lighter note than the song that followed, “Don’t Take the Girl”.

My Granddaughter had 2 at 18. 1 for Amazon, bookstore, and groceries and 1 for gas.

I’m a big Country fan but never liked this anti-Trumper Democrat. He’s been boasting his Democrat affiliation for years, even in some of his songs.

I see where American Indians would like the song “Indian Outlaw” and where white leftists would pretend to be offended. Any neutral mention of Indians in a song will be like that. Also the words are chosen for rhyme and sound without being super historical (e.g., Cherokee, Choctaw, and Chippewa did not live in teepees).

I think I had a Chevron gas card and a Sears card by 18. My kid is now 23 and has no credit card.

Not a flaw. Lots of kids had credit cards at that age in college...or at least had offers to get them. I was in college in the late 70s and was getting credit card offers at 18-19.
