I watched the debates with four friends. One an extreme Kerry supporter. He was appoplectic over Kerry's performance. Kerry's inabilty to look into the camera, his addressing thing to "Jim" while Bush addressed us. I called a friend who watched seperately and he felt Bush clearly won (Gore voter in 2000). What a difference a 1/2 hour makes. Dem spin meisters are machines. Kerry could have passed out at the podium and they would have been praising him. Look who's on. I've always thought that it's the one-liners and memorable phrases that really count, not "debate points", and I feel that Bush had some good ones. I think the best is the following regarding Kerry's call for more foreign troops in Iraq: "So what's the message going to be: Please join us in Iraq? We're a grand diversion? Join us for a war that is the wrong war at the wrong place at the wrong time?" -- Zing! Anybody else have some good ones???
