An American Airlines plane came close to smashing into a private aircraft on the runway of Reagan National Airport on Wednesday morning, according to reports. Audio shows an air traffic controller canceling the take off clearance for the AA flight 2134 as the private King Air plane was set to land on an intersecting runway at 10:21am local time. As the cancelation goes through, the pilot in the private aircraft, a Hawker Beechcraft, reveals he's already on the ground in Arlington, Virginia. Regan National Airport is also known as DCA. Traces of explosives have been found on victims of the EgyptAir plane crash over the Mediterranean in May, investigators say. A criminal investigation would now begin into the crash of the Airbus A320, Egypt's civil aviation ministry said in a statement. Passengers on a United Airlines flight at O’Hare International Airport were evacuated due to "fumes or smoke" in the aircraft early Sunday morning. Flight 525 from Boston to Chicago landed on time at 7:17 a.m. with fumes or smoke in the aircraft, according to Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford. NEW YORK - JetBlue Airways Corp. said it plans to exercise options to buy 30 Airbus A320 aircraft. The discount carrier did not disclose financial terms when announcing the decision on Tuesday. The move means JetBlue now has firm orders for 123 A320s and holds options on 50 more. For now, the Forest Hills, N.Y.-based airline's fleet consists of 60 A320s. It expects to receive nine more this year and delivery of up to 17 a year until 2012.
