I have a question that I haven't seen addressed yet, and pardon me for donning my tinfoil hat, buuuuutttt..........Considering high fuel prices, interminable service delays at airports, why, WHY were four transcontinental commercial passenger aircraft flying virtually empty? Each were reported to have capacities of an excess of 250.......None had even half the seats filled! The flight from Newark had only 38 passengers on board.Pardon me, but most transcontinental flights would be cancelled under these circumstances, wouldn't they? Can anyone come up with answeres to this question?

I was in Midtown during the strike. It's a peculiar feeling when you see the familiar world come crushing down around you. I can still hardly believe it happened. Those were two enormous buildings, which took years to build. It took a few minutes to destroy them and kill thousands of people. Here's what I think. America has been at war with many countries, e.g. Iraq, the Palestinians, the former Yugoslavia, and so on. For example, Israel and the Arabs don't like each other. In fact, they are at war. Since we support Israel, the Arabs figure they are at ...

Chicago, Il, November 3,1995 ...The new leader of an Islamic terrorist organization ran an Islamic studies think tank at the University of South Florida (USF) about which the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) had raised serious concerns with university officials. Ramadan Abdallah became the leader of Islamic Jihad for Palestine, a known terrorist group that has taken responsibility for the killing of dozens of Israelis, after the assassination in Malta of Fathi Shikaki. Mr. Abdallah was the Administrative Director of the World Islam and Studies Enterprise (WISE), a think tank of the Islamic Committee for Palestine (ICP). ADL has been monitoring the ...

A passenger managed to reach her husband on her mobile phone moments before American Airlines flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon. Barbara Olson, a commentator for CNN and wife of US Solicitor General Theodore Olson, was one of 58 passengers on the Boeing 757. They had been herded to the back of the plane along with the four flight attendants and two pilots. In two brief and furtive conversations with her husband, Olson, 46, gave a few details about the plane's hijackers, CNN reported. She mentioned that there was more than one, but the only weapons she described were knives ...

The Washington Post has just put out a rare late special edition on today's events with a huge horrible picture of the second plane headed for the Trade Center tower while the other one burned. Excerpts: Front page story on Pentagon attack titled 'This is on the Scale of Pearl Harbor'... Lead editorial titled simply, "WAR"..."It has been 60 years since the U,S. homeland sustained an aggression of this magnitude. The country responded then without panic but with an iron determination to defend itself and punish the aggressors. the response today must be as decisive - to the mass murderes ...

We just heard of a plane crash in Dayton. I was outside with neighbors, we heard this very loud boom, from the direction of Wright-Patterson AFB, about 10 mi from my home. I came home, turned on local TV, the local CBS said there is an "unconfirmed" report of a plane crash near the VA Medicl Center. The camera showed a huge cloud of smoke. This is all I know for now.

Tuesday September 11 4:04 PM ET Arab Street Cheers, Govts Lament U.S. Attacks Photos Reuters Photo By Joseph Logan BEIRUT (Reuters) - Arab leaders voiced shock and horror at devastating attacks that leveled symbols of American power on Tuesday, but a chorus of cheers rose from streets that resent U.S. backing of Israel. Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak (news - web sites), Washington's key Arab ally, called the plane attacks that destroyed the World Trade Center and left the Pentagon (news - web sites) in flames ``horrific beyond imagination.'' Ordinary Egyptians, however, felt otherwise. ``Do you want to hear my ...

Television became a national gathering place on a terror-filled Tuesday, replaying unimaginable scenes of a plane crashing into the World Trade Center and its skyscrapers collapsing. Newspapers rushed out special editions. Many headlines said simply: ``TERROR.'' When the first of two planes hit the Manhattan landmark shortly before 9 a.m., it set in motion an extraordinary effort by the media to tell the story. Catastrophes unfolded as fast as television could detail them: a plane plunging into the Pentagon, a crash in Pennsylvania, buildings evacuated across the country. Commentators tried to keep calm. ``This is the most serious attack on ...

A Date which will live in Infamy Sept. 11, 2001, a date which will live in infamy, a demonic force suddenly and deliberately attacked the government and people of the United States. For the first time since the British attacked Washington and Baltimore in the War of 1812, a foreign enemy has directly assaulted the mainland of our Republic. Every one reading this is a survivor today. I, personally, was considering a flight from Boston to New York City this morning for a business meeting but had changed my mind. A passenger flight from Boston was one of those that ...

The only thing I've heard is that it was possibly the Army wing that was hit. I've also heard that the jet Barbara Olsen was on was the one that hit the 5Gon. Is there a death toll? Any other facts?

Rhys, Our future as a country as we know it is being threatened today. Nothing will ever be the same. There is nothing more important than the survival of America. Nothing. A lot of our freedoms have been threatened internally but now is the time to hope and pray that our leaders will set aside partisan wrangling and do the right thing. There must be terrible and swift retribution against the perpetrators of these acts and the countries that harbored them. Nothing less will satisfy the image of our weakness in the world. A weakness that threatens our very existence. ...

Expert testifies Islamic terrorists flocking to U.S. SPECIAL TO WORLD TRIBUNE.COM Monday, January 31, 2000 WASHINGTON -- The United States and Canada have become havens for Islamic terrorists from the Middle East, a congressional panel has been told. Despite counterterrorism legislation, the United States and Canada have become a haven for such terrorist groups as the Palestinian Hamas and Islamic Jihad, the Lebanese Hizbullah, the Algerian Armed Islamic Group, the Egyptian Al Gamat Al Islamiya and the Al Qaida group, led by Saudi billionaire fugitive Osama Bin Laden. Counterterrorism expert Steven Emerson cited the liberal climate in the United States, ...

Fox News was just on live with NYC official, and they expect 10k+ in fatalities. This exceeds the bloodiest day in American History, the Battle of Antietam in 1863 during the American Civil War in which there were over 25,000 killed and three times as many wounded. I think the D-Day invasion and Pearl Harbor, Tarawa, and Iwo Jima top off the next deadliest days in America...This is a horrible day in America...but as always, we will prevail.
