Ever since the Never Trumpers left the Republican Party and rushed into the arms, politically and financially, of the Democrats, it's been pretty clear that all the "conserving conservatism" talk was a smokescreen. They wanted to run the Republican Party, and when they were rebuffed, they exited to grift off the Democrats. I wrote about Jeb!'s former communications director now embracing Hasan Piker and Nick Fuentes because he wants to preserve "democracy" against Donald Trump, and we all know that David French, who ran into the arms of The New York Times, argued that the best way to fight abortions...

The 2024 presidential hopeful with close Trump ties advances to the general election, NBC News projects, to face Democrat Amy Acton, who led the state’s Covid response. Businessman Vivek Ramaswamy has won Ohio’s Republican primary for governor, NBC News projects, advancing to what could be an expensive and competitive general election in a state that has been brutal for Democrats in recent elections. Amy Acton, a former state health director, won the Democratic nomination Tuesday without opposition. Ramaswamy, 40, defeated Casey Putsch, a political novice known for his “car guy” videos on YouTube. Putsch’s campaign played out largely through social...

Any attempt by Alberta to separate from the rest of Canada must follow the strict rules set out by the Clarity Act, Prime Minister Mark Carney said Tuesday, while making the case that he can stop the secessionist push by demonstrating that the federation works. On Monday, the leaders of Alberta’s separatist movement said they had gathered enough signatures to force a vote on whether the province should split with Canada in a referendum scheduled for Oct. 19. The campaign could still be derailed by a legal challenge and an Elections Alberta investigation, but its leaders insist it has the...

By the time doctors detect pancreatic cancer, it’s often too late to treat effectively. But a new study suggests that artificial intelligence might be able to find signs of the disease before tumors are visible on a scan. An AI model developed at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, detected abnormalities on patients’ CT scans up to three years before they were diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, according to research published this week in the journal Gut. The scientists behind the model, which is now being evaluated in a clinical trial, trained it by feeding it CT scans from patients who...

A new study by Texas A&M University scientists offers fresh clues to a long-standing puzzle: why people who drink coffee tend to live longer and develop fewer chronic diseases. Their results suggest brewed coffee contains compounds that interact with a little-understood protein in the body, potentially influencing inflammation, aging and cancer-related processes. Hailemariam et al. demonstrate that brewed coffee and its major polyphenolics and polyhydroxy constituents are NR4A1 ligands and that NR4A1 may play an important role in the health-protective effects of coffee. A team of astronomers in Japan has detected a thin atmosphere around (612533) 2002 XV93, a trans-Neptunian object about 500 km in diameter — an object far too small and cold to retain one. An artist’s conception of the trans-Neptunian object 2002 XV93. Image credit: NAOJ. “In the cold reaches of the outer Solar System lie thousands of small objects known as trans-Neptunian objects (TNOs) because they lie outside the orbit of Neptune,” said Dr. Ko Arimatsu from Ishigakijima Astronomical Observatory and colleagues. “A thin atmosphere has been observed around Pluto, the most famous TNO, but studies of other TNOs...

A generational and structural shift is decoupling Black identity from Democratic Party loyalty, transforming a once-reliable voting bloc into a cohort of "political free agents" that the GOP is uniquely positioned to exploit.

Usually, having an armed officer at school sort of helps deter the whole school shooting thing. I'm not sure if that's the case here. They still haven't found the gun! Here's what happened. This happened just before school let out on Monday, so at least there wasn't much left of the day (I guess?). The police are calling this "unfortunate and embarrassing," but that's not even the half of it. It's a lost gun on school property. More from that story above: Authorities say hallway surveillance images indicate that a limited number of people entered the restroom, but authorities have...

FedEx driver Tanner Horner has been sentenced to death for the murder of 7-year-old Athena Strand by a Texas Jury following a gut-wrenching trial that detailed his psychotic behavior during the killing. The confessed killer learned his sentence at a court in Fort Worth, Texas, some 40 miles southeast of where Strand’s naked body was dumped in a creek on Nov. 30, 2022. Jurors deliberated for about three hours after arguments rested Tuesday. Horner appeared utterly unmoved by the verdict – with not a flicker of emotion on his face as the judge said he’d die by lethal injection “before...

Biotech entrepreneur and former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has clinched the Republican nomination for Ohio governor. Ramaswamy will face Democrat Dr. Amy Acton, who served as Ohio’s state health director in the early days of COVID-19, in November’s general election. NBC News shared further: Ramaswamy, 40, defeated Casey Putsch, a political novice known for his “car guy” videos on YouTube. Putsch’s campaign played out largely through social media missives, some of them targeting Ramaswamy’s Indian American heritage. A third GOP candidate, Heather Hill, was removed from the ballot under a provision in state law after her running mate for lieutenant...

President Trump promised political payback last year when Indiana state senators from his own party voted down his plan to redraw the state’s congressional map to help Republicans. On Tuesday, he got much of what he wanted, as at least five of the seven anti-redistricting Republicans facing Trump-backed challengers lost their primaries, according to The Associated Press. The results reflected Mr. Trump’s continuing sway over Republican voters and his ability to enforce political consequences for Republican officeholders who defy him. In the other races, at least one incumbent won his primary and another race remained too close to call. State...

Video surveillance has emerged showing footage of two worthless human beings assaulting an elderly man in far-left Seattle for no particular reason, as the mayor whines about such footage. Now, both are walking free. As KOMO News reported Monday, the Seattle police released footage this week captured from the city’s Real Time Crime Center surveillance cameras, which show two young black men attacking a 77-year-old male at the corner of Pike Street in the downtown area. The incident occurred on April 19. The video starts with the two perps sauntering down the sidewalk, one trying to pull up his jeans....

So much of the Left’s justification for various social justice programs relies on its ability to erase and rewrite history. In one area, this problem is particularly acute: slavery reparations. A recent story out of the U.K. highlights this problem in the most ironic way. According to GB News, the Green Party’s Global Majority Greens chief “reparations officer”—yes, they have one of those—is not only the child of a billionaire but a direct descendant of prolific slave traders. Antoinette Fernandez, who is originally from Nigeria and is currently running for office, has reportedly campaigned on the idea that British subjects...

Nithya Raman, a progressive urban planner, entered Los Angeles politics with a bang when she was elected to city council in 2020, defeating an incumbent Democrat endorsed by Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton. More than five years on, the 44-year-old is making waves again with her last-minute entry into the LA mayoral race. Raman filed to run just hours before the deadline – after recently endorsing Mayor Karen Bass for re-election – to the surprise of constituents, and political allies and opponents alike. The bombshell development came after the race had finally appeared to be swinging in Bass’s favor, following...

WASHINGTON: US intelligence assessments indicate that the time Iran would need to build a nuclear weapon has not changed since last summer, when analysts estimated that a US-Israeli attack had pushed back the timeline to up to a year, according to three sources familiar with the matter. The assessments of Tehran’s nuclear program remain broadly unchanged even after two months of a war that US President Donald Trump launched in part to stop the Islamic Republic from developing a nuclear bomb. The latest US and Israeli attacks that began on February 28 have focused on conventional military targets, but Israel...
