US President Donald Trump says countries "like the United Kingdom" who can't get jet fuel because of the restrictions around the Strait of Hormuz should “build up some delayed courage, go to the Strait, and just TAKE IT". In a post on Truth Social, he writes countries will “have to start learning how to fight for yourself, the U.S.A. won’t be there to help you anymore, just like you weren’t there for us," addressing countries "which refused to get involved in the decapitation of Iran". "Iran has been, essentially, decimated. The hard part is done," the post adds, ending with:...

No Kings? Ha! That “movement” is a sham, funded by many groups, to the tune of at least $3 billion. The groups? Pro-communist. Meaning that the No Kings movement is driven by those who apparently want a dictatorship á la those of Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Fidel Castro, and Kim Jong-un. And a per capita GNP of about $98. But no kings! We have to understand something: any Republican president is a “king” in the eyes of deranged, power-hungry leftists: Nixon, Reagan, ‘W’, Trump, whoever. And any Democrat, no matter how tyrannical, is a wildly successful benevolent leader, no matter...

Four years after the liberation of Bucha, the town remains a central reference point for understanding the nature of the war in Ukraine and the limits of current diplomatic efforts. The events that followed the withdrawal of Russian forces in March 2022, when hundreds of civilians were found dead across the Kyiv suburb and the wider region, continue to shape how Ukraine defines both security and peace. Bucha has become more than a historical episode. It functions as a political and moral benchmark in discussions about any future settlement. Ukrainian authorities report over 400 civilian deaths in the town itself...

President Trump shared jaw-dropping video footage Monday of a massive explosion in Iran reportedly caused by a US airstrike on a large ammunition depot in Isfahan. A “high volume” of 2,000-pound bunker buster bombs was used in the strike posted by Trump on Truth Social, a US official told the Wall Street Journal. The footage that caught the president’s eye is one of several videos of fiery blasts that have taken place in Isfahan, the country’s third-most populous city and the location of the majority of Tehran’s 60% enriched uranium as well as a sprawling “missile city”.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei on Monday mourned IRGC Navy Chief Commodore Alireza Tangsiri, calling him a “brave commander” who “attained martyrdom after years of struggle,” according to state news agency IRNA. Khamenei also described Tangsiri as courageous and central to Iran’s role in the Persian Gulf, adding that he “died for his country” so its military “may continue on the path of Iran’s maritime authority and resistance, stronger and more firmly than in the past.” Tangsiri, 64, died of injuries sustained while on duty, the IRGC said, after working to strengthen Iran’s coastal defenses, though Israel says he was...

A Kuwaiti oil tanker off the coast of Dubai was set ablaze Tuesday after being struck by an Iranian drone, according to reports. The fully-loaded Al Salmi tanker suffered damage to its hull and firefighters battled to control the flames, the Kuwait News Agency reported. The 24 people on board the vessel were rescued and there were no oil spills, the Dubai government confirmed. Officials are now investigating the scale of the damage caused to the vessel, which has been in operation since 2011. The strike comes as oil prices continue to fluctuate while the Strait of Hormuz remains closed....

A Brooklyn Council member, her sister — an aide to Gov. Kathy Hochul — and the husband of a Democratic state Assembly member are being investigated by federal prosecutors looking into whether they took bribes to help a migrant shelter provider that has received $200 million in city contracts, according to a report. Democratic Councilwoman Farah Louis and her sister, Debbie Louis, who served as Hochul’s assistant secretary of New York City intergovernmental affairs, were named in a search warrant obtained by the Associated Press seeking evidence for possible criminal violations. Edu Hermelyn, the husband of state Assembly Member and...

Rep. Ilhan Omar’s (D-Minn.) family has a direct connection to genocide in Somaliland. And she herself has proudly fraternized with an architect of that genocide while visiting Somalia. Vice President JD Vance confirmed this week that evidence definitely implicates Omar in immigration fraud. Afterwards, the Republic of Somaliland offered an extradition deal with the United States, so they could help bring her to justice. And if you don’t know the difference between Somaliland and Somalia, or why the former has a grudge against both Omar and her whole family, prepare to be sickened at the sort of murderous trash we...

RIGA, Latvia — Sindija Brakovska is 18 years old and dreams of becoming a hairstylist or a dance teacher. She studies at the Riga Technical School of Tourism and Creative Industry, a vocational school centered on hospitality, tourism and fashion. “I love girly stuff,” the tall Latvian tells me. On this March morning, roughly two dozen girls between 16 and 18 are sitting in the classroom with Brakovska. Some of the girls look shy. Others sprawl with the studied boredom of teenagers everywhere. Top: A soldier walks in a classroom with students on both sides Bottom left: Close up a...

The chamber had been sealed for tens of millennia leaving it contents largely undisturbed since the Ice Age. Photo credit: EQRoy/Shutterstock Archaeologists have uncovered a previously sealed chamber in a Gibraltar cave that may shed fresh light on the lifestyles of some of the last Neanderthals in Europe. The space, believed to have been closed off by sediments for around 40,000 years, was found at the rear of Vanguard Cave, part of the Gorham’s Cave Complex on the eastern face of the Rock of Gibraltar. The complex of caves is renowned for its extensive archaeological deposits, which include evidence of...

Daily Readings from the USCCBReclining at table with his disciples, Jesus was deeply troubled and testified, “Amen, amen, I say to you, one of you will betray me.” John 13:21Love, betrayal, divine glory, and human weakness permeate today’s Gospel, offering us a contrast of emotions and experiences to ponder. All forms of joys and trials affect our lives. Life is not “a bed of roses,” as the old saying goes. Besides joy, love, and excitement, we are touched by hurt, anger, fear, and anxiety. The same was true of Jesus’ human experience with His disciples...Through no fault of His own,...

"Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen" (Matt. 6:13). The Disciples’ Prayer is a pattern to follow for life. The implications of the Disciples' Prayer are profound and far-reaching. An unknown author put it this way: I cannot say "our" if I live only for myself in a spiritual, watertight compartment. I cannot say "Father" if I do not endeavor each day to act like His child. I cannot say "who art in heaven" if I am laying up no treasure there. I cannot say "hallowed be Thy name" if I am not striving for...

The month-long closure of a crucial waterway for the global energy supply has sparked warnings the world is heading for problems worse than those caused by the 1970s oil crisis. Lars Jensen, a shipping expert and former director at Maersk, told the BBC the impact of the US-Israeli war on Iran could be "substantially larger" than the economic chaos seen in the 1970s. His comments follow a warning from the director of the International Energy Agency, Fatih Birol, earlier this month that the world is "facing the greatest global energy security threat in history". "It is much bigger than what...
