Watching Florida Panther forward Matthew Tkachuk gush over U.S. president Donald Trump at the White House while donning the Commander-in-Chief’s signature red tie may have been a hint, but a new report gleaned from publicly available voter registration data finds that the NHL’s American players are among the most right-leaning in professional sports. Only one league, Major League Baseball, had a higher percentage of American players who were registered as Republican at 53.7 per cent compared to just 7.8 per cent Democratic and 36.4 Independent. The FBI has fired additional agents who worked on cases involving President Trump, including several who worked on the Mar-a-Lago documents case. A source who confirmed the firings to The Hill said at least 10 agents were removed Wednesday. The dismissals are just the latest in a wave of firings of FBI and Justice Department personnel who worked on cases involving Trump. The FBI Agents Association blasted the move as weakening the bureau. “The FBIAA condemns today’s unlawful termination of FBI Special Agents, which—like other firings by Director Patel—violates the due process rights of those who risk their lives to...

Explanation: What does the universe look like through infrared goggles? Our eyes can only see visible light, but astronomers want to see more. Today’s APOD shows spiral galaxy IC 5332 as seen by two NASA telescopes: Webb in mid-infrared and Hubble in ultraviolet and visible light. To toggle between the two space-based views just slide your cursor over the image (or follow this link). The Hubble image highlights the spiral arms of the galaxy separated by dark regions, whereas the Webb image reveals a finer, more tangled structure. Interstellar dust scatters and absorbs light from the stars in the galaxy,...

In a three-part series published last week, the World Socialist Web Site documented an unprecedented influx of intelligence and military operatives into the Democratic Party. More than 50 such military-intelligence candidates are seeking the Democratic nomination in the 102 districts identified by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee as its targets for 2018. These include both vacant seats and those with Republican incumbents considered vulnerable in the event of a significant swing to the Democrats. If on November 6 the Democratic Party makes the net gain of 24 seats needed to win control of the House of Representatives, former CIA agents, military...

Rapper Cardi B is putting her weight behind Representative Jasmine Crockett in the highly watched Texas Democratic Senate primary. Crockett, a US House member who President Donald Trump often uses as a foil, is competing against state Representative James Talarico in the Senate primary race. Early voting has already kicked off ahead of Election Day on Tuesday. Democrats are hoping that this is the year they can finally flip a Senate seat in what has traditionally been Republican red Texas - and it helps that the Republicans are in a rabid battle amongst themselves. The seat is currently held by...

A CIA member takes over.Spanberger is part of a much deeper, much more disturbing story here.https://x.com/JohnFisher9372/status/2027003153481109960 John Fisher@JohnFisher9372·6hReplying to @DataRepublican and @jammles9Well done!
