Rapper Cardi B is putting her weight behind Representative Jasmine Crockett in the highly watched Texas Democratic Senate primary.
Crockett, a US House member who President Donald Trump often uses as a foil, is competing against state Representative James Talarico in the Senate primary race.
Early voting has already kicked off ahead of Election Day on Tuesday.
Democrats are hoping that this is the year they can finally flip a Senate seat in what has traditionally been Republican red Texas - and it helps that the Republicans are in a rabid battle amongst themselves.
The seat is currently held by Republican Senator John Cornyn, who is seeking another term but is endangered in his own primary.
Despite having the baggage of a high-profile affair, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is a MAGA favorite and is ahead in the polls, with Representative Wesley Hunt also challenging Cornyn.
Cardi B, who's vocal about supporting Democratic causes and campaigned for Vice President Kamala Harris in 2024, characterized Crockett as a fighter.
'So listen up, ya'll. Early primary voting is happening right now in Texas and we need Jasmine Crockett to win,' the rapper posted to her Instagram story Thursday, explaining that Crockett was running for Senate.

Uh, no Republicans are fretting
You are right. No Texas Republicans are “fretting “ that Jasmine will win the Dem nomination.
Yaa where exactly are any republicans fretting, maybe the uniparty is given they could lose another senator, but not republicans.
“why do you want her to win?”
“Cuz she be black. I be black too. And she a woman and I a woman too”
Republicans might fret if Talarico wins the Dem nomination and is against Paxton or Cornyn...he could potentially campaign on “values” against Paxton. He is very deceptive - not that Crockett isn’t deceptive but her talent for it isn’t as strong. Wesley Hunt would be best against Talarico as he can take on Talarico’s narrative directly...Paxton would hardly be in a position to correct Talarico’s theology he uses on the campaign trail...just the facts...and Cornyn would just try to play the “middle ground” which would also be very weak.
But, Crockett would be the weakest against all of them.
I meant about the possibility of her winning the general - looks like she will win the primary:

Crocket’s a loon. She may win the Dem primary, but she won’t win the seat.
If democrats want to flip the seat, they should nominate the hispanic, not another foul mouthed moron who gives Historically Under Represented People of Color a bad name.
Not this garbage again. (Not referring to you.) Yeah Texas is going to turn blue. Uh huh. Except for the big cities Texas is red. That’s won’t change.
Don’t laugh. Look at pretty much all 50 states and you will see it is the big cities that are making decisions for them all. Illinois, MN, Washington and Oregon. In any state large cities are surrounded by conservative normal people. But when the cities get big enough, their shear numbers will overpower anyone else.
True enough.
Democrats are motivated by vile hatred and Crockett is as vile as they come. She will energize the rat base like you have never seen. Conversely she will energize republicans in a way that Robert Francis O’Roark never did. This should be a Republican win but it will be closer than we like unless the evil wing of the rat party actually manages to disillusion the stupid wing. I’ll not hold my breath.
Those gigantic “see how smart I am” glasses always convey the message “see how stupid I am” ...
The only fretting is that Crock of it WON’T win the rodent primary. The Texas rodent should have convinced Beto The Fake Mexican to give it another try and take one for the team. Crock of it will hurt down ballot rodents.
When candidates seek help from a rapper, that says more about the voters and it does the candidate.
Loses by double digits. Tagline BUMP seems appropriate.
