A West Virginia mother has been jailed for 15 years to life for the horrific starvation death of her 14-year-old daughter.
Julie Miller sobbed in court as she was sentenced on Wednesday for the April 2024 death of Kyneddi Miller, who investigators said they found 'emaciated to a skeletal state' lying on the bathroom floor in the family's Boone County home.
Miller, who pleaded guilty in November to death of a child by a parent by child abuse, will be eligible for parole after 15 years but will face 50 years of supervised release if she is freed. Despite letting her daughter starve, she appeared of a very healthy weight in court and had clearly not deprived herself of food.

Needed to be life, no chance of parole, honestly, we need to get serious with capitol punishment.
Hopefully her fellow inmates will reduce her sentence.
I agree.
Big time (pun intended).
Sickening!
I’ve known a couple of girls with eating disorders. It was called a mental disorder. The one I knew best is probably better described as a spiritual problem.
I looked it up.
Kyneddi is a variation of Kennedy which is derived from Ceannéidigh which means helmeted chieftain or ugly head.
I leave it to you to decide what the parent’s intension might have been particularly since this name was bestowed upon a girl.
People used to be ashamed to look like her, now they're put on a pedestal
Tub of lard.
Or her eating habits.
Firearm ammo comes in +P and +P+.
She us not plus. She is plus, plus, plus, plus and then some.
When did BBW mean a “whale”? BBW started out to mean curvy and a little extra baby fat. Now it is just a 500 pounder.
When did Diva come to mean a “whale”? Another class of 400 pounder.
There is plus size and then there is incredibly huge.
White trash.
The Daily Mail only gives Boone County as an address, which leaves a lot of room for speculation in what might have been hard core dueling banjos country. I’m not sure I’ve ever been in Boone County. Beckley, Charleston and Parkersburg, sure ... but get off on the backroads in them thar hills and there are some pretty isolated areas.
The story covers the school but makes no mention of neighbors, friends, a job, a church or social services, except to note that social services obviously dropped the ball. Mom obviously had access to a supermarket so they weren’t totally isolated.
Maybe the mom ate the last three people who did a wellness check.
Some people go hermit. It happens in cities too, but in a city, there are more eyeballs around.
Man women get such light sentences for murder. Could be out in 15 years for starving/torturing/murdering her own daughter. Bet the defense said it was a 45th trimester abortion.
They’re mentality is that the more skin they have, they can get more tattoo’s!
Agreed. Its a massive problem with women receiving little to sometimes no jail time than what a man would receive for, doing the same thing.
One thing women don’t group up and clamor for is equality in criminal sentencing, because as a sex they benefit from it.
Apparently, handcuffs are made in various sizes.
Not a One Size Fits All deal.
One look and it’s easy to see this was a very long time in the making. Family dynamics from way back.
Didn’t just wake up one one day and decide “Let’s starve the kid.”
In His arms we pray a child will soon be.
I would add an extra "F" for “AWFUL” for “Affluent White Fat Female Urban Liberal.”
